Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@darj really clean sound and mix. Honestly done really well and I'm a fan of the incidentals you have going on that add to the rhythm. My main suggestion would be to maybe beef up the saw (is there a saw?) in your bass line or give it some motion. It's asking for something a little more involved tha...

Mauve - Froth [Dungeon sound but with a bit more bounce?]

http://soundcloud.com/ajglue/froth Looking for some feedback on this. I would expand parts as necessary, probably need to mix down the flutes a bit. I was trying to get some of that modulated reese going on, but I also wanted it to be a bit of a headbanger. Second drop is more aggro. But yeah, looki...

Re: Burial - Kindred

Giving it a first proper listen, interesting direction for Burial to go - as always, so emotive but with a bit more groove this time. I've always been anxious whenever there's new Burial because so many of my favourite musicians have crumbled in their later careers, but Burial continues to show the...

Re: Burial - Kindred

Honestly, every track is astoundingly beautiful. Ranks up there with some of his best stuff. Ashtray Wasp is such a euphoric and anxious song at the same time. The way Kindred picks up at the end is also such a nice reward. And I guess Loner is the hardkore tune Burial's anted to make for a while. D...

Re: ZOMBY

Trax improving his reputation further I see. Really only came on here to say that I kept repeating "Trapdoor" for pretty much my whole journey to work today. Anyone know who really made it so I can check them out? Jokes. Sick tune. Best track on the album imo,not sure if its velodrome or ...

Re: Loving Dubstep in America

Damn, looks big! There's no dubstep DJs in my area and it's really on the tear-out bro sound that makes it around here. One day, I'll buy some decks and try to learn!

Re: Ramadanman aka Pearson Sound Appreciation

It's so great to hear how his sound has changed but still stuck to the same basic concepts of having movement, space, and heavy heavy bass. From his straight up dubstep to when he started to get 'weird' to his house stuff, what an astounding artist. I still think his Jamie Woon Refix is up there as ...

Re: Is this honestly considered brostep?

FWIW I don't think brostep is just maximalist. Rustie is maximal and it's hardly bro-ed out. Same with some Joker and other future garage music. I think brostep is more removed from the UKG aesthetic and sound. Like this song doesn't sound like it'd fit into the UKG/2-step timeline; it sounds like a...

This reminds me of the whole joe paterno scandal in America http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/09/penn-state-protest-for-joe-paterno-photos_n_1083331.html TL:DR: students at penn state, after finding out their coach was accused of child molestation, protested the university's actions of firing t...

Re: Mpk25 for my first Midi keyboard

I have an LPK 25 and it really comes down to what you want. Mine is mini-keys, no pads, no mod or pitch bend. But it does what I need it to do. I don't think you'll be upset getting a 25 key keyboard, tbqh.

Re: ZOMBY

what's the name of the old hardcore (i think?) tune that pretty much all of 'where were you in '92' is a reworking of? chords and everything? To be fair, that's not a big deal. Jamie XX did it too in Far Nearer and Burial's drums in Near Dark are nicked rhythmically from El-B's Lyrical Tempo. Stuff...

Re: ZOMBY

couldnt care either way. ill continue to enjoy the tune. but as others have said, all of the rerark guys other tunes are pure shit so hard to imagine him making gold all of a sudden. That's why I'm holding out hope that all he did was cut up the sample at the beginning of the song until the music d...

Re: ZOMBY

Well this fucking sucks. Big ups on Reark for creating a massive song, one of the best of the scene. Shame on Zomby for this shit. He's such a good producer that to do this is just very disheartening. Such a big fan and now I'm just really sad :/
