Re: Worth Picking up Cubase 7?
I think Cubase is great, it was the first DAW I learnt and i didn't find it hard. Although it takes a while to master everything it can do, which is a lot! I'm not sure about Mac and PC, you'll need to ask them. i did some research and can use the key with eaither which is cool. Its basically a cas...

Re: Worth Picking up Cubase 7?
Cubase is awesome. But if you already have Ableton and know it well, you won't gain much by getting another DAW. They're all pretty good, why waste the time learning software you don't need? I think there's already scale and chord plugins in Ableton, plus a few third party plugins like Cthulhu that...

Worth Picking up Cubase 7?
hey guys I have learned in ableton 8 (now have 9) and have tried demos of FL, Logic, Reason but always found flaws in the use personally that bought me back to ableton. I never tried cubase but it looks really interesting with a lot of cool features (split windows for mixer and the chords track syst...

Re: Vinyl to PC recording with Focusrite Saffire?
You'll need an amp (receiver) or a DJ mixer for 2 reasons. 1) the signal from the turntable is extremely low, and they boost the signal. 2) both amps/receivers & DJ mixers have a connection for the ground cable from the turntable. A soundcard won't (as far as I know). In my set-up, I have my tu...

Re: Vinyl to PC recording with Focusrite Saffire?
I've tried with my Scarlett 2i2. My best results were from going from my Mixer to the sound card with one of these - http://www.djzone.co.uk/ekmps/shops/djzonecouk/images/nexera-6.35mm-jack-stereo-to-2-phono-1.5-metres-390-p.jpg with the input switched to Instrument not Line (no idea why but it sou...

Re: Tips for a Mastering Noob?
Guys I pirated a 250$ plugin and the presets don't make my tracks sound pro = this thread. Yes Ozone is all you need (tbh its more than you need), T-racks is just another suite with similar tools - there's no special tricks, mastering is a whole different art in itself... Seriously read the manual ...

You're looking for a shortcut for something there's no shortcut for. Read the links again. Those are to get you started. How good are your mixdowns? How well is your room treated? How good are your monitors? How much experience do you have mixing down, shaping sound and sound designing? Try to cons...

Re: Melodyne and repitching key of vocals help!
i haven't started working with melodyne yet, so i might be wrong about this....if your music and the vocal are both in a minor scale, can't you just select all the blobs in melodyne and move them up or down until their root key is the one you need for your track ? yea i thouhgt that might work but ...

Hey guys Im working on a remix of a track in a different key to the vocal I want to use in the track, vocal is g sharp minor. I loaded it into melodyne and its showing me that some of the vocals hit a C note? theres no C in the G sharp minor scale right? So Im kind of confused about the following th...
