Waves Aphex Vintage Aural Exciter, for bright sounding pianos anyway. Works wonders though!

Re: Advice on studio acoustics please
As for speaker placement, have your setup close to one of the 5m walls, but not directly at the wall. Have the speakers at 60°, tweeters at ear level.
And most importantly treat the areas of first reflections, which are the spots where the sound from the speakers first hits the walls.

Re: 808 kick not sub-bass?
And about pitching an 808 sample down sure I can do that. But have you guys tried it in a real project and it sounded good? When using an 808 as a sub bass line, it's not a bad idea making it in a synth from scratch: just use a sine wave with a +2 octave pitch bend on the transient part (first 100 ...

Re: 808 kick not sub-bass?
a standard 808 kick will be around G which is 49 hz. the 'useful' sub bass range is more like 35-100 hz.
you can tune an 808 sample to be anywhere in this range (or outside it even), and yes it's probably a good idea to have it in tune.

Re: Vibe Devices Across Your Whole Mix
+1 for Satson on some channels and buses. fucking great, nice subtle filters and the 'fat' switch is cool for basses n kicks.
used in moderation Kramer Master Tape is great for some proper glue action across the entire mix.

Re: Producer "Round table"
Might well be depending on what time I get back from lunch...actually 5pm GMT will be 6pm CET so should be good :D Have a YouTube account, no gmail though? I think they're pretty much interlinked now, so if you have a Youtube account, you have a Google account automatically and vice-versa. I could ...

Re: Want to buy some software.
Sorry for the quoting mistake, SunkLo! ;) Love how this software thread turned into a 'mixing sub bass on headphones vs monitors' thread. Again, if you have an untreated or in any way acoustically shitty room, good set of cans can be much more accurate in the lower end. Yes, you can hear bass notes ...

Barka - Through [Free Download]
Tune I finished today, after realising I had way too many 8bar loops I was never going to go back to, so I had to sit down and create something whole. Comments & criticism appreciated, any feedback can help! :) It's a free download too, if you happen to like it. http://soundcloud.com/itsbarka/ba...

Re: Want to buy some software.
For bass music I feel a sub is essential. I was just writing about this in another thread, it's really hard to make good clean subs on headphones. It sound ridiculous to me to even listen to bass music with out I disagree. While I would love to have a sub to monitor with, in a less then ideal room ...

beer, cigarettes, dsf and finishing working on track ideas within half an hour and ditching them forever (and then starting on a compeltely unrelated & equally unusable idea).
that and 8 bar loops.

Re: Using psychoacoustic theory to create even more epic dro
And I thought sin waves don't have much in the way of harmonics, and thus, if two sin waves were played in sync, two octaves apart, there would be no phase cancellation, right? Right! I tried using seven cutoff/low pass filters on a deep/low end sin wave, qnd check what happened under a parametric ...

Re: best way to find the key of a tune (djing)
forget the guitar tuner, you're not going to be able to detect the key of a song with that. mixed in key is decent, but is not always correct and costs money. just play along the tune with a piano or any intstrument really and find the note that fits most, it'll be the tonic. then play scales over i...

Re: what is your work speed?
A track a week or two weeks or so, but unbearable amount of loop ideas still.
I need to push myself to create a finished track, and I usually end up finishing them too early, because otherwise I'd start hating them by the time they're half finished.
