it is recognized in the system settings, no i am not running windows, cuz well, I hate windows lol, and being that I have a macbook, and not a macbook pro, that mean i am only capable of running 32 bit?

So, I was lent a Xone 2D from my buddy to use as a soundcard, and I can use it as such, but only the RCA connections, can't seem to figure out why optical isnt working? as well as hearing audio playing in a web browser (thru optical), and if im not using the headphone jack, I cant control the volume...

anyone else having weird crashes in ableton, when you remove a plugin, effect, anything really, and its not just third party ones it also crashes when I remove any of abletons plugins as well, so.....wtf? more and more everyday, I wonder, "why did I pay $700 for this, when I could have learned ...

So im curious as to how I can get ableton to sync to whatever bpm that first sample is that I drop in... Ive seen it done before, but cant figure out what settings it is...what i mean is, to open ableton, have nothing loaded, nothing at all, and then pick a sample/stem I like and what ever Bpm that ...

Ok, so I am working on some tunes with a friend, and hes got Ableton 7, and I got Ableton 8, I just know when he sends me all the files, they wont open, any way to make doing this, and it not be time consuming (rendering every individual track) and pain in the ass...???
