Re: How much $ are the "big" guys making
I can easily see Rusko making more than 10K per show. He played at the Fox here in Boulder last year, people were willing to pay $100 on craigslist, people were outside the venue with cash held high trying to buy tickets. If he played there again, he could easily charge $50 a show - it holds 750 peo...

Re: Audio recording sofware for Mac?
+1 Audio Hijack, super easy to use, it can grab the audio from any application, and it singles out the application so you don't have to worry about other noises popping in there.

Re: Isolating sub bass vs. Layering sub bass
I'll usually see where the kick hits and then remove a lot of that frequency from the bass using a spectrum analyzer and a lot of eq. Then I'll clean up the eq on the kick to have it not interfere with the bass around it much. Although I wonder how much cleaner/powerful it would sound making a compl...

I made this, it has a ton of music theory in there.
Phrygian is great, especially for a darker sound. The root to a half step up progression is definitely evil sounding.

Re: Anyone used Akai MPK Mini or MPK25?
I'm so happy with my mpk mini, I use it all the time. I also have an FCB1010, APC40, Axiom 49, and Korg NanoKontrol. I use the MPK Mini more than any of the other ones now. It's great for producing as I don't have to be at my desk where everything else is set up, so portable, and so many options. Yo...

Re: MPK mini problems
Here are my settings. If I'm using massive, I'll literally right click on what I want to control, and then move a knob. The knob I chose then controls the parameter. It also works in midi map mode in Ableton - just go into midi map mode, then click on what you want to control, then move a knob. Exit...

Re: MPK mini problems
I just put a reminder for myself to post screenshots of my ableton setup and mpk mini editor setup. I go on lunch in 4 hoursish, so I can post them then when I get home.

Re: MPK mini problems
Seriously, I'd double check everything again, I love my mini, it's so convenient because of it's portability. When doing sound design, it's quick to midi map and tweak things out on the fly, easy to bring to different parts of the house, easy to travel with, etc... For the price and functionality, n...

Re: MPK mini problems
I can be home in about 3 1/2 hours to help, I'll respond to an email around then if you send one, then we can get on IM or something. It'll probably be one of those, "well, have you tried this...?" "well, give this a shot..." Wait, how is this part of this software set up on your...

Took me a year to finally get it done, I as well have a ton of tracks in various stages of completeness. Here's the one I finished:

Re: MPK mini problems
I have an MPK Mini that I use with windows & Ableton/Massive/Sylenth. I am at work now, and my gear is at home. I'd be happy to troubleshoot some things with you later
