I've just plugged a jack cable from headphones output on audio interface to the recording input on the audio interface.

Do these guys give feedback on a mix before cutting if you aren't attending? I have never sent anything off to be mastered before. Cutting isn't mastering yo. A certain amount of processing will need to be done so the audio can be cut, but the engineer isn't gonna sit there for an hour mastering yo...
