Re: How to get basslines sounding this way?
Yeah, use envelopes. They're way more flexible and way more real sounding than LFOs. Really? I never would have thought. So envelopes to automate Cut Off? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLu92qDFlC8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2cHhOKYZNI Is that how such producers achieve those single hits, stab...

So all modulation should be drawn with drawn automation lines? Awesome. Gonna try that now.

How to get basslines sounding this way?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUf1UollhRA I don't want the actual sound, but I'm more curious how you get your basslines sounding so melodic? Normally when you apply an LFO to anything it causes oscillation at a pace which makes it hard to be this melodic, even at lower ratios. 00:33 - 00:34, how ...

Re: Zeds Dead, the mysterious duo...
Their remixes are great. But to be honest, the tracks they remix are already fantastic, so it's not the hardest thing to do.
I love their vocal effects and reese bass style.

Quantizing recorded melodies?
Is this advised? I never quantize my recorded melodies, or even manually shift them to grid, because I feel it ruins the groove. But I've come across the problem of my melodies, riffs and basslines not looping properly because of this, which creates a really broken, poor flow :< And a lot of the wor...

Re: free download vs not?
it's not just about exposure and revenue. the new economic musical paradigm is: 1. make album 2. give it away for free 3. tour extensively if it's good 4. make another album 5. charge money for it 6. tour back to the venues where there was the largest turnout 7. !!! 8. PROFIT Ha, Skrillex much?

Re: Questions about drum programming
I'm starting to understand it a lot better. But I fear my understanding is still very vague and can't properly comprehend the terms off-beat" and "off-beat eighths" -- because I'm sure an off-beat is just adding emphasis and attention to a note that would usually be weak,, but don't u...

Re: Questions about drum programming
That was mentioned to. Off-beat eighth notes mean what exactly? Is it an off-beat which is a eighth note value, or an off-beat in an eighth position?SunkLo wrote:Ride cymbal on off-beat eight notes?

Re: Free logos
A logo should make sense in black and white at any size, in any medium. Don't be using 20% opacity stuff, reflections, shadows, special FX etc, on your logos because that's not what a logo is! That RR ando ando logo is the only actual 'logo' posted in this thread so far, sorry! e.g, this 'logo' in ...

Re: Questions about drum programming
Ah, right. Thank you! That's all cleared up.
Anyone know what the terms, "ride on the eighths" and "off-beat eighths" mean exactly? I'm sure a ride if a mixture of hats and other percussion to create depth, so how could it be in the eighths?
