Re: True Metal-step Collab?
Sorry, didn't really make myself clear in that post. What I meant is that It's difficult to mix speed riffs with a 140 tempo. Dubstep or trance can sound huge at 140bpm, but every time I write metal at that tempo it sounds more like a ballad. So if the dubstep sounds fast but the metal bits sound ...

Re: True Metal-step Collab?
Been going over a few things, and we've decided that the only way this is going to work is if we make it drumstep rather than dubstep. Mostly coz it's difficult as hell to write metal riffs at anything less than 180bpm. We're workin on a prototype atm with a midi guitar track, I'll put it online ...

Yeah, Dance Metal lol.
Cheers for all the ideas guys. Think we're gonna have to rethink the collab idea after all. If we ever come up with something that works, I'll be sure to share it with everyone.

You could try this one:

It's not too wordy, and there are audio examples. Helped me out a lot.

True Metal-step Collab?
A friend of mine who writes dance metal suggested that we do a collab, I said yes coz I thought it would be an awesome idea. Unfortunately, in the two months since we decided to do it, we've had no good ideas about how a metal/trance/rave/dubstep song would go, and there's no other artist that does ...

Re: Remixes allowed?
Thanks for clearing that up guys. What I'm probably gonna do for now is release an EP of my originals for a small sum, but release a remix EP separately for free. Thats sound good?

Cheers for the input so far guys. And no, I did not sample it lol. Took a lot of time to get that bass, and its still not quite right. Hear what you're saying Astrobear, I'll get on that soon.

Remixes allowed?
This may be in the wrong section, but what the hell.
I'm hopefully gonna be releasing my first EP soon on beatport or similar.
I've done a few remixes which I'd like to put on it, all with vocals or other elements of the original song in them. The EP won't be free, so kinda unsure what the rules ...

Re: newcomers -> introduce yourself here
Greetings fellow dubbers.
Currently living in Kent UK, been writing music for a while but only got into dubstep bout a year ago. Due to my Heavy Metal soaked history, I am more of a fan of the brostep/filthstep scene ala Excision, Skrillex, Zimo etc. Will hopefully have an EP of my stuff out soon ...

Re: Dubstep (Inspired) Remix [not filth] [first song]
Nice track dude, very chillaxed feel to it. I don't know how the vocals go, but this track is dying to be sung over. I'm not that big a fan of relaxing dub, but this I like, good job.

Re: CowardlyLion - The Key (input greatly appreciated)
Loving the 'Tron' feel on this track lol. It's a great track, I totally agree with the single melody and adding things on top approach. If I'mcompletely honest, the drums still aren't quite doing it for me just yet. Up the high-mids on the kick and they'll pretty much be there. Hope this helped.

Re: New producer - Feedback and criticism please
I feel u there man, drums are the hardest part of a track to get right for me too.
Like everyone else says, get a few snares etc in there and it would be a cool track. Look forward to hearing the finished version

Re: [FEEDBACK] Rob HOlmes intro/FIRST TRACK!!!
Uploaded fine dude. Excellant track :) Love how it's not the usual wubwub style, it's pretty unique. The synth work at the intro is awesome btw. Only gripe I really have is that for me the kick doesn't quite stand out after the drop, but that might just be me. Also, would've liked to hear some ...

Excision style - feedback needed
My first post, so please go easy :)
Nearly finished the new track, tried to give it an excision-ish sound. Would appreciate any feedback anyone can give.
