Re: Snow Leopard running on 2011 MacBook, for anyone interes

sorry just on an off note... All my complete (7) plug-ins are working fine in Lion. In fact I don't think I had a single problem with the upgrade. Good to know! I think everyone's starting to catch up... I'm going to try to create a lion install disc or something and save it. I'm sure I'll have to ...

Re: Snow Leopard running on 2011 MacBook, for anyone interes

Quick suggestion - have you considered making yourself a mini blog to detail all of this? Although I'm not a Mac user myself, I've got a lot of mates who are and this kind of story is the sort of thing I've seen them link to in the past. Actually, I have a blog project for school that I'm doing on ...

Snow Leopard running on 2011 MacBook, for anyone interested

For anyone interested... I successfully managed to do this, even though Apple and Geek Squad both told me it wasn't possible. Someone spilled water on my computer (I'm not mad at them I , so I had to get a new one. As you may know, a lot of plugins are not compatible with Lion, such as Komplete 7 (c...

Haha I found one of those on top of a trash can! Im sure I could get some interesting sounds by loading them into kkontakt or something if I felt like making the effort. Why the mirrored image?

Re: Just got an Akai CD3000XL sampler.

Thanks for that info, that sounds really cool. Yeah, it's got multiple outs. I might be able to track down a windows 95 computer but at that point I think t starts to be more trouble than it's worth. Thanks guys!

Re: Just got an Akai CD3000XL sampler.

That's what I figured. I got some sample cd's to work, which is cool... I guess it's time to get a hold of some floppies and start sampling away :). Will any floppy disk work, or do I need a special Akai format disk to put samples on it?

Just got an Akai CD3000XL sampler.

Traded my MC-303 for it straight up! It seems like a badass toy, but I'm pretty new to hardware and have no idea how to use it. It doesn't seem as user friendly as the EMU samplers at my school, and it has no samples loaded into it. I've managed to track down some archaic sample CD's for it that it ...

Re: Ableton vs. Logic mixdown; also a question about pan law

i think it could be because a lot of people have this thought that logic sounds better. maybe you've jsut got this stuck in your head and now you think you can hear it? regarding the panning i'm not really sure i'm sure someone else will be able to help you on that one though That's highly possible...

Ableton vs. Logic mixdown; also a question about pan law

I know there is plenty of information on the internet that has come to the conclusion that you can do an equally good mixdown in any DAW. BUT, I swear my mixdowns in Logic sound better (it's possible I'm just spending less time on the mixdown in Ableton). I've also read some things about Ableton's p...

Make sure that able ton isn't detecting it at the wrong tempo and warping it.

Ipad users: recording/composing help

Hey guys, I just got an ipad 2 (as well as an alesis studiodock on the way) and I'm doing a blog for school on tablet music production. I'm going to start out just posting songs and sounds made with different apps, but for the final I would like to make an entire song on the ipad. I know the gorilla...

hope this is the right section, roland mc-303 for trade/sale

Looking for anything electronic music related, let me know what you have. This thing just isn't for me. Its absoluetly flawless other than the user banks being full, and im using my own power supply so it needs one. They sell for about $200. Like I said, anything... software, samplers, rack units, w...

Re: Is it true, that if you're high on weed, you produce bet

This is just my personal opinion... I don't think you neccessarily prooduce better, just different. I don't smoke wed anymore, and I find my ear for eq and compression is better sober. I would suggest composing high, or sometimes high+ sometimes sober, and mixin and mastering sober, then check your ...

Re: the classic "take a photo of your setup" thread

ah, sweet. never seen that version with those round buttons before. anyway yeah, most toys casios don't offer a lot of sound variety - but they're always fun to play. and sometimes those sounds fit very well in a track. Also, even if you don't use it, the more stuff you have laid out in your studio...
