I think that the short 808 kicks are fucking don, whatever your trying to make. Those long subby ones have a place in trap, some electronica, and some dance music, but they can't be as widely used. Those short ones though.

Look for any parameters that are labeled "Retrigger" or anything like that, it should be a button, or switch or something like that. Check it off on any of the boxs you find that are related to automation, also look around in ableton. I've never used it so i can't rattle a solution off the...
