Re: 2 ableton questions
for your shortcut problem... can't you set one using Shift-M. I've never really used that feature before, but I think it does something along those lines.

One huge misconception I had about EQing...
Just thought I'd share this problem that I just got over, I'd always seen things about instruments having their "body" of frequencies that they live in, and thought that those were the only places those frequencies could survive in. I would cut all my kicks off at 200, cut my snares below ...

Vocal work
I'm currently doing a tune with vocals, and I've run into a problem My vox dont sit well in the mix at all. It sounds like there is a well-mixed track sitting right behind vox that were recorded in a soundproof room, rather than a singer singing "in the music" if you know what I mean. They...

Re: mastering music
The mixing engineers handbook is pretty good for mixdowns. I would assume the mastering engineers handbook is pretty handy as well. Could probably check it out online or at your local bookstore. It's by Bobby owsinowski? The spelling on the last name might be wrong lol.

Favorite Sample/Pack?
Basically, what are y'alls favorite samples or sample packs? I have found myself deprived of good quality samples.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
I have another question. :p How would you go about getting reverse reverb? The only way I can think of is recording a midi clip and then reversing the audio sample and putting reverb on it then record and reverse again, but I'm not even sure how to do that. Help would be much appreciated. :) you're...

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
I'm completely new to Ableton. Tried it out at a guitar center the other day and loved the workflow. Anyways, I'm using my computer keyboard and it was working fine till I closed Massive and now the computer keyboard won't work for any of the tracks. The computer keyboard switch is on. I don't reall...

Re: Chords
look up chord progressions and incorporate those into your melodies.
use chords in your pads and layer it with other things.
you can use notes outside of the key you're working in depending on how your melody goes/ how you want your tune to "feel"

Re: Logic Studio 9 v Logic Express
Thanks a ton guys! ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
I think I might dish out that extra cash for the studio.
I've tried out logic before and picked everything up fairly quickly.
Precciate it.![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: Massive in FL Studio
I use massive with FL and it works just fine for me.
i haven't really tried to mess around with automation of it though, but from what I hear it's fairly simple.

Logic Studio 9 v Logic Express
I'm confused....
I know the studio 9 includes logic pro 9, but can you not just get it by itself?
Or is the extra $300 worth the other things in the pack....
I just bought a Macbook pro today and love it. I plan on buying logic soon. I just need to get this cleared up lol.
thanks!
