Re: Disco samples/few questions
I don't see why you guys are making such a big deal about it, i'm asking so i CAN go look for myself, and I have been listening to the genre here recently.. it's not like i was saying that whole example = disco, but that just a few of the elements are disco influenced. like some of the hit sounds an...

Re: Disco samples/few questions
Fair enough, but is there a specific style of disco to look for? I'm looking for samples to use similar to ones that are used throughout this.

Of course I could just buy the pack but that's not the point.

Disco samples/few questions
I'm looking for some disco style samples to use in complextro, drumstep, etc. Mainly looking for parts to use as hooks, female vox, etc. I never really listened to the genre so it's hard for me to just go "listen to some random disco tracks for parts i like" because I wouldn't know where t...

Antares Autotune On Samples
So I've been messing around with atares autotune lately, mainly on samples and it's pretty fun. Basically what I do is open a drum rack in ableton drop a bunch of synth/vox hits in and put antares at the end and lock the scale to whatever key i'm in. And then I set the retune speed to fast, and trac...

Re: Nice Hit Sounds
Yeah I've never heard getter either till like 3 days ago. But yeah I did notice that, theres a lot of subtleties like that in the song that i'm noticing after opening it up in ableton trying to break down the sound.

Re: Nice Hit Sounds
Well i was referring to the whole sound, the less obvious parts. The kick is pretty obvious and so is the fact that it's a chord. But was it synthesized? If not how could one go about making something like that. And oh yeah I didn't even think about the fact theres probably some white noise in there...

Nice Hit Sounds
Been trying to come up with some big hits similar to the ones used in this track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DRc6ajsM-4 . the first sound you hear immediately when you start the track. i'm guessing he used a sample for this? what would be a good place to start when it comes to making sounds lik...

EDM Big Chords
Okay so ironically the element of EDM that I tend to struggle with is the big synth chords that you find in tracks by people like Kill The Noise, Skrillex, Zomboy, xKore, etc. use. I call them big synth chords because that's all I really know what to call them. They are often used as like fills at t...

Re: Legal issues and royalties.
Are you sure? You don't have to file a copyright for it yourself? Does it matter or not that his FL studio is pirated? He's gotten in contact and they took the song off youtube and radio for now until they pay him.. But what about the money they made from when it was playing? I'm also trying to help...

Legal issues and royalties.
So one of my good friends is a rap producer, he just makes rap instrumentals. Some dudes took one of his beats without paying, and the song is on the radio now. And he hasn't received a dime. He was trying to say that once you export your intstrumental, to say mp3 for example. That it's copyrighted ...

Re: BPM conversion/Ableton Warping
If I have a clip that's warped to a new bpm using complex, and I have it set to Hi Q, and then freeze it. It'll sound exactly the same as unfrozen and maintain all those settings and save me tons of cpu right? I dont want to flatten them to audio yet I want to be able to come back and change stuff ...

Re: Logic for Production?
logics stock plugins blow abletons out of the water and its much cheaper. id say its worth learning just for that. i dont think its that tricky to learn either. everything is pretty much laid out...well...logically. i couldnt figure out how ableton worked for a while but logic was fairly easy to pi...

Re: BPM conversion/Ableton Warping
is it going to sound better if i warp it to 129, or 139, etc. Like so it's increased an even percentage? like not from 109 to 134 or something random like that, if you understand what i'm getting at. Complex pro and complex are for vocals and beats is for beats, although the manual will go way more...

BPM conversion/Ableton Warping
Okay so say you have stems for a song, and you want to remix it in a new bpm. Is there like a certain ratio I should stick to when warping it to a new bpm? Like for example say the tune is 109 bpm, is it going to sound better if i warp it to 129, or 139, etc. Like so it's increased an even percentag...
