I've got hypersensitive hearing + tinnitus from some medication I took. The tinnitus isn't too bad (yet) just ringing, but the hypersensitive hearing makes loud sounds hurt like fuck, which is horrible for production/DJing. I have to wear earplugs a fair bit, but its manageable, I would suggest ever...

I've had the Numark NDX800's for quite a while now, and although they are not of the most sturdy construction, they've served me well. I'd recommend having a look.

Played on pioneer a few times and thought they were a bit crusty/shit, though that's probably just club maintenance for you.
