That's funny because I'm pretty sure all he did was chop the song up, so that's just the normal old Skrillex drums. I agree by the way. I've always thought Skrillex mashed this track waaaay too muchRegret wrote:Sounds like your percussion is wayyyy to over-compressed.

Re: Paradigm "Falling Down" (Dubstep new age)
I absolutely love some of your basses. really deep and heavy. This is kind of the Mt. Eden style except better than Mt. Eden. It's really nice to hear some pretty stuff on this forum once and a while. Great work. My only critique is that I think you should tighten up the track length a little bit. 6...

Re: Jackknife - Moving On Down The Line (Dubstep/Experimenta
Oh yeah, I dunno about the sample. I think Zomboy kind of owns that one now. That'd be like putting "ja-ja-ja-ja-ja-ja-ja-ja drop the bass" into a song. See what I mean?

Re: Jackknife - Moving On Down The Line (Dubstep/Experimenta
This is kind of different. That's a good thing! Like what most people said, the basses are a little too high up in the sonic spectrum to really be called "basses." And that's really a situation of just coming up with a different patch.
That sucks about your computer man.

Re: Jugga0 - Bombyknocker (tear out)
To me - granted, this is just one mans opinion - this track seems just a tad empty. I'm not a huge tear out fanatic, but what I have listened to seems to have more going on than this track. I would say add some frills and little synth melodies into the intro to fill the sound up some more. Also, the...

Thanks dude. Glad you liked the sample! Also, thanks for the compliment on the toms. I was somewhat afraid I may have gone overboard with the drum arrangement. Glad it's not too crazy!

Yeah Yeah - Dubstep/Drumstep/Whatever
http://soundcloud.com/nealge/yeah-yeah-wip Here's one for ya. This is definitely a work in progress. The piece is essentially there, there just some mixing issues and drop issues that need to be attended to. This is pretty heavy on the melodic side of things. Maybe too much so. Voice your opinion b...

Re: Hello, I'm Kayshot. Here Are My Dubs.
So, here's my opinion: Great start it works. All I think it needs is to have the drums way further in front. They're just a little too distant for this style. This is just personal taste, but your bass is also way too far in the back. I wanna hear it! Think more along the lines of Excision and less ...

Re: Soft Synths! What's everyone using?
I assumed there probably was a topic like this already. But I didn't take the time to search. Silly me. By midi, I was referring to transferring CC commands to the hardware synth itself over a midi cable. I guess I am still working in midi anyway. Oops

Soft Synths! What's everyone using?
For me personally, I sample my Little Phatty and plop it into Logic's ESX24 so I can distort and bitcrush it. It also gives me waaaaay more control than midi does!
What about everybody else?

Re: Zeds Dead, the mysterious duo...
Zed's Dead is, in my opinion, one of those groups that did a good song, but the rest of their stuff is pretty lame. I thought White Satin was pretty crazy for a while. Props to them for getting recognized by the public and actually being successful at electronic music. Isn't that kind of everyone on...

Re: Owner of a Lonely Heart rmx- free dl
I know I haven't. 70's and 80's songs seem to not be quite as frequently remixed as others. Probably because there's not an abundance of multitracks floating around on the internet of them!

Re: Owner of a Lonely Heart rmx- free dl
This is pretty sick. I mean, wow. Who'd ever thought somebody would make a Yes remix? lol. The basses could be more intense, but that's just my personal preference and me being EXTREMELY nit picky. It's sweet just the way it is. Keep making awesome dub like this.

Re: PR Bee - Time Dilation
It sounds like what you have is the foundation for a full piece. In its current incarnation, it doesn't feel like it goes anywhere. You could think about making the drums a little more complex by adding some hi hat action or something, or you could test out some different rhythms as the song progres...

Re: Skrillex-ey Dubstep Breakdown
Finally! Somebody else is doing this style on this forum! All I have to say pertains to the drop. You're using the "yoi yoi" sound a lot. While good in moderation, that sound has become extremely cliche now. I'd say use it a little less than you are now, but however you're bitcrushing it s...
