Re: Saw Pad (not same question as always)

Using Sylenth: Use a square and sine an octave apart on the "A" oscillator page, you can detune them if you want. Use saw on the "B" oscillator page. Lowpass A, Band or Hipass B. Play with the cutoffs & resonances. Layer in white noise if you need more top end. As for ADSR, s...

Re: Clicky sort of sound? Help?

The chugging synth? Saw wave LFO on volume or filter cutoff, add sidechaining for more rhythm.

Re: Help me recognize this bass (should be easy)

The actual bass definitely isn't a vocal lol... although that other stab sound is a vocal. Try a mixture of saws/sines or saws/squares using each an octave apart, add a quick decay to provide the plucking nature and try adding in different harmonics in the synth to give you some midrange on top of t...

Re: Help me recognize this bass (should be easy)

what i want to know is how he gets it to sound so stereo since almost all of it is below the frequency threshold generally considered to be necessarily mono only. is he just disregarding that rule? Reverb can help you get around this - send your bass to a reverb thats quite tight but wide, and just...

Re: How to get this pumping choppy lead synth effect?

1/12 LFO with a downwards ramp assigned to the volume Yep, this. I used to use the saw-stlye LFO in Massive to do this all the time to get stuttered basses. You can either add the LFO to the volume, or the cutoff of a nice filter - gives different results but both work. Add in a normally 4x4 or 2x4...

Re: Layering Samples for DnB

Awesome. Thanks everyone for providing some feedback! I'm going to mess with the transients and see what I can come up with. I've tried using post-processing things like saturation a little bit but haven't really committed to this as I think it can easily distort it too much (or at least for the sa...

Re: Layering Samples for DnB

Well you were asking how/what order etc to use them in - if you know why you're using them then you should know how they should be set up in the mix... i.e. you know what you want to achieve by using them, and you're not just using them unneccesarily. Just a tip, make sure you retain your transients...

Lol dude I know exactly what you mean, idk if you're being intentionally stupid but as I've said twice now all he's done is to re-dub the vocal. As in he's recorded himself (or someone else) saying "FuntCase" and dubbed it in over "Snake"... there's no magical software that conve...

Re: Using guitar rig on basses

This is utter bullshit. That's like saying "X Compressor is aimed at vocalists, you can never use it on anything else". Just because it's meant for guitars (mainly due to the amp and cabinet simulations) doesn't mean you can't use it on things other than guitars. The other FX contained wi...

Re: Using guitar rig on basses

Its actually not producer savy to use guitar rig on a bass, since the plugin is designed for guitars sounds and harmonics adding anything else will yelled disastrous results. Only use native distortion fxs. This is utter bullshit. That's like saying "X Compressor is aimed at vocalists, you can...

Re: Using guitar rig on basses

I use the distortion, compression, and general FX... there's loads you can do. Just don't expect it to sound good if you slap a preset made for a guitar onto a bass sound.
