Re: Still not getting 'half time'
Half time allows you more musical freedom. Think of it as putting more groove in sounds by stepping them off the 1 2 3 4 beat grid slightly. Aka humanize. Otherwise there's no benefit at all. When you're writing at 70, you're writing at 35, 140 and 280 for that matter. It's all truthfully in how you...

I just want to pull from myself all the things I feel i'm capable of.
I figure I should start somewhere along the only line of thought that ever got me anywhere.

Re: FM8
It's really easy to use. Retardedly easy. Read the manual and then study up on some FM synthesis.
Though I like Blue by Rob Papen much more. Does FM and wavetable with an interface that I can dig more. Give it a shot.

Re: Sample Workflow VS MIDI Workflow
Naw dogg. Unless something is finalized synth wise 100% (usually not till the middle of mixing) I guarantee you even MT eden doesn't flatten until they're be all and done all with that track. You must be confused with the idea of RESAMPLING in which case, yeah.. they'll freeze then flatten or drag o...

Koan Sound is more original then cookie cutter dubstep everyone else is doing. :cornlol: Maybe you should listen to some Ramadanman or something if you want creative and innovative music. Not just someone who has the time and effort to resample more than others. I listened to this guy. I scrap abou...

Re: Skrillex assistance. NO, this is not about bass or leads
Also, One key thing I have found that makes snares sound hella more punchy, is putting no reverb on them. I am now dead against putting reverb on a snare after experimenting (obviously this is personal taste). I just find that with no reverb it hits harder, tighter and sounds so much more in your f...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NZ5LIR4k7w new skrilly track what did he do to approach this main lead in this track... drops at 26 seconds. FM8. Get it in the higher octaves and play with the envelopes while modulating sine or saw waves and you'll get something similar rather fast. He's also got c...

Do you guys think that the ableton intro is worth it for someone starting out or is it missing too much to be useful? Slash, none of you guys happen to have a copy of ableton live lite hanging around do you? I just bought an akai mpk25 and the seller lost the disc :( It'll show you that you want th...

Just learning Ableton. A quick question.
First post! Hi! So I don't understand how I can process an individual pad in a drum rack, seperately than another pad. It might be of note that I want to layer that pad. If it's not possible, I figure i'll just move them across the rack and midi sequence everything... layer for it to play during tha...
