The two genres are very similar, you could often interchange the two by just changing the beat pattern. I make dubstep and electro, and I know that there will be others on hear who can appreciate this type of music without being hung up on the fact that there isn't a snare on the third beat.

I'd say my biggest influences are deadmau5 and kaskade, so my song came out pretty different compared to other stuff.

I used FL Studio 8 (yeah a bit old I'm getting the new one right now) with Nexus and Massive and the tempo was 132 bpm. It was originally meant to be a deadmau5 faxing berlin style track until a friend suggested I put some wobbles in it.
