Mysterious Universe use SP:MC + LX One - Hunted for intro!
I've been a fan of this podcast for yonks and they usually have really chilled out dubstep/glitch or haunting Burial style tracks. I was in the bath ready to go out and the track came on for the intro and I'm just like :corndance: . Really good podcast if you're into your conspiracy theories (like I...

Re: My First Dubstep Tune - Warped!!
Yo, welcome. :) It's a great effort for your first go, better than mine anyway! Right: - Your snare is way too weak, layer it to make it really punch through. - Add a tiny bit of compression on your drums, but don't over-compress. - I'd probably looking into making your track shorter, unless you can...

Re: URBANSTEP - DAYLIGHT
Like someone else said fella. you aren't going to get respect by bumping your threads constantly... It's against my grain but I'll tell you what I think you need to do to make your track (in your sig) better; - Make it less repetitive - Is there sub in there? I couldn't really hear/feel anything - A...

Re: Weapon X - Played Out (WIP) [Brostep?]
It doesn't have that punch that brostep tracks are known for. My bed would be to increase the volume of the drop etc.

Re: Dubrenaline - Their Blood (Deep)
I prayed when I saw the title it'll be a WaW sample in there, niiiice.
Yeah, in regards of improvement, try putting your synth an octave or two higher to make it more distinguishable, can't fault the track though. Good effort.

Re: Getting famous - how does it exactly work? D:
Rarely dubstep producers get famous, they get well known and all that, but I think above all a track will be more famous than the producer, if the producer keeps making bangers then people will start to associate him/her with making beast music (Burial, SP:MC, Distance - to name a very small few). W...

Re: Mixing Dubstep with Pop
Gauging your success by the amount of records you sell, or how much money you make is pretty much synonymous with being a wanker. Success is in the mind, if you're working your arse off for a company you don't care for and coming home and working your arse off completing a track, day in/day out, tha...

This, the yoy and yeah basslines have been done to death man.Audilepsy wrote:IMO steer clear of vocal noises. they've been done, or just make them huge.
Btw, with it sounding out of time, are you syncing the bassline to the track before automating it?

Re: Sub-bass:What colours would you use to describe it?
A little off topic... but it's really interesting. Remember Tizer when they released those pops and they were called green/orange/purple flavour and they really did taste like the colour, in the same way we associate sounds with colours. I checked your art work on sub and that's exactly as I would h...

Re: Skrillex question.
In an interview from a news paper in the UK that I remember (only this part because you gotta feel for the boy) is he found out he was adopted when he was 14 (I think) and all his family and friends new since the start and didn't tell him, he got a bit angsty as you would, and run off as a frontman ...

Translucent greys and very dark blues.
The shapes would be blurry, the type of blurry when you're taking a dump and the window cleaner arrives and if you don't move he might not make out your shape. Hah, that's the only way I can think of describing the image I imagine sub to be.

Re: J-Haz - Kurt Cobain (First dubstep song)
I listen go a lot of hip-hop (and the instrumentals) and I can feel the vibe coming through on this track.
Only criticism I can give for this track mate is the wobbles seem out of time, have you made them match the tempo of the track? Should be a switch on any VST you're using to sync with tempo.
