Re: Wrong frequency?

In Logic, middle C is c3 instead of c4. Does that have anything to do with it by any chance? I'm just spitballing here, I'm not that familiar with the software myself. It might have, but then it also means that all keys on piano roll are labeled wrong, because you can find the key that says "C...

Re: SP:MC - Declassified

Not an expert on this sort of stuff, but: single triangle wave filter off the high end LFO -> amplitude distort slightly (soft clipping for example) add sub underneath LFO -> amplitude (so the sub wobbles too) It doesn't have to be triangle wave, just make sure it's something with not too many harmo...

Re: Wrong frequency?

I went to Logic and tried it with ES2, using only single saw wave, and fuck man.. It actually does play the wrong note. Playing C1 = you get C2. Playing C0 = you get C1. Same happened with Klopfgeist (Logic's sine wave generator).

Re: Wrong frequency?

Does it happen with waveforms that certainly do have fundamental being louder than other harmonics (saw waves for example)? Also, what analyzer are you using?

Re: Moth/Code:Pandorum Bass in Massive?

I'm looking to kind of create a deathstep styled heavy bass, the distorted kind that Moth and Code:Pandorum use. Anybody know which kinds of effects and oscillators in massive would get me on the right track? Like 99% of the time, you can probably get these sounds out of basic waveforms like saws &...

Re: Jack U Snare

Skrillex has said time and time again that what he's most proud of, are his drums. I saw a radio station do an interview with him and diplo before their album released, and diplo was just gushing on and on about the snare in "take U there"....Skrillex went on to divulge basic tid bits abo...

Re: Good reminder of why you shouldn't always trust your ear

Hmm...that seems odd. Do you notice the reverse...if you actually export the reference track from Logic, will it retain that harshness when you put it back into iTunes? When I export tracks, they sound exactly the same through iTunes as they do in Ableton. You should remove all FX so you aren't col...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread

Damn, could have downloaded this when it was free.. Not worth buying for me tho, Vocal Tranformer -stock plugin in Logic does all the same stuff except for the additional drive knob.

Re: Good reminder of why you shouldn't always trust your ear

I tested it again this morning with fresh ears. Either there is a difference or it's my brain that screws me up. High end sounds more "bouncy" in Logic to me, than what it's like in iTunes or Yt. All these small high end things like when s on vocals, cymbals, and high end on midrange basse...

Re: Good reminder of why you shouldn't always trust your ear

To try to be useful: listening on YouTube, as we know, means the file has been heavily compressed--MP3 compression usually looses some high end and low end content, though typically I seem to recall people mostly noticing high end. I wouldn't be surprised if an iPhone headphone jack had some kind o...

Re: Good reminder of why you shouldn't always trust your ear

Alright I did a quick google search, but didn't find any free wav downloads to these tracks (surprise). Let's just hope that stuff bought from iTunes is high quality enough. Reference tracks I used were: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXp6wOg6pxM ^ this is what tried first. https://www.youtube.com/...

I think he mis-spoke because before that he said he was adding "two point seven kay" and then he summarized it as "twenty seven kay" because he was camera nervous. This looks like what he is using...no 27Khz setting http://www.summitaudio.com/images/eqf_page/front_eqf_1.png But ...

Re: Alright Newbies, Ask A Question

All of that is dependant on very strict arrangement. So it has to be noted that it's the most mainstream bits that are the most guilty. And down the line the lack of ideas that instate those as 'rules'. That's somewhat true and I agree on that, but it could be applied to any other form of dubstep o...

Re: Good reminder of why you shouldn't always trust your ear

So If I Understood you well you're saying that listening the same song on youtube or logic you get different high end? This exactly. Does some high frequency content get lost when it's played through a smartphone, youtube or iTunes etc. ? Try this: Download a high Quality wav reference track, play ...

Nah, just make some tiny fade-ins to their fingers & toes & tune your snare to the key of the crowd, and they both can stay in the room.
