Re: What's your secret production weapon?
plugin chains. splitting every reece in 4 separate buses of certain frequencies, throwing lots of phasers and distortions on one range, then cutting a big chunk out of its eq. throw bandpass on. automate. seems to work. btw, I don't see the point in using downloaded patches, especially ones from co...

Re: Dub Piano sound help
Look up some raggae music, its sometimes just a minor 3rd interval on the offbeat, so say C + Eb, then maybe Bb +D.
Once you learn a minor scale, if you just keep moving down or up using a minor 3rd interval, you can come up with a bunch of different cool melodies.

What's your secret production weapon?
The one go to compressor, amazing reverb impulse, rediculous sample pack, the one thing that made you excited when you found it. If anyone else is like me, its like fucking Christmas when I find a new synth, or learn a new productive technique. For me personally, High Rankin released a pack of prese...

Re: New to making Dubstep, need help getting that right soun
@ Phase Down - I'm definitely trying to figure out new musical techniques, stuck in a bit of a rut with my piano abilities at the moment, thinking about getting a synth/midi guitar though! i've been a guitarist for 15 years, probably the easier route. Thanks for the input! @ hasezwei - Thank you ver...

Re: How to make kicks sound full?
I like your style. I was taught the trick of mixing into a mastering limiter in college, its not to make you forgot about gain structure, and I see why this method is looked upon poorly. But if used correctly this can save you a bunch of time and headaches early in the mixing process. Unless theres ...

Re: New to making Dubstep, need help getting that right soun
Thanks for the response Cheeky! I guess I didn't clarify enough, I've been producing electro house and mash ups for a few years, but I got the dubstep bug a couple of months ago and I havn't looked back since. Its way more fun to produce. Thanks for the advice about the mix-down, I'll definitely tak...

New to making Dubstep, need help getting that right sound.
Hey guys, I just joined the forum today...been trying out making dubstep now for the past couple of months and I've managed to produce two songs I think are worth showing you all of you at DSF. I'm looking for some help on the audio quality side of things, it seems the tracks I produce sound fine wh...

Re: Why use synths?
This is kind of ridiculous to see on an electronic music forum. There will always different ways to make music, but why use synths?? its like why sing when you can change someone elses lyrics. Its original, additive synthesis to make something from NOTHING. Instead of taking others work(that they pr...

Re: How to make kicks sound full?
Another thing that can help a lot with getting huge kicks is parallel compression. Setup a compressor on an aux track, max the threshold & ratio, give it a good amount of knee, play with attack & release settings so you get a nice 'pump' happening from your compressor,(also change the types ...

Re: audio interface
You will still be able to use your cracked version of Massive. Just don't install any demos that come with your hardware. I recently activated a bunch of native instruments hardware via Service Center, did not pick up any of my cracked soft synths. I'm not sure about your question regarding 'pluggin...
