Is it just me or is soundcloud dead?
I feel like the vast majority of activity is just bought and paid for spam comments and likes even well known artists, their tracks are full of fake comments and likes from bots that you can buy, its easy to tell a real profile from a fake one I was going to renew my pro subscription but I feel like...

Re: Where do you make your eq cuts?
I use Ableton as well. I don't think it has a transient shaper built in. Flux bittersweet is freeware though http://www.fluxhome.com/products/freewares/bittersweet2 Basically with the sub you wanna cut anything above 80 to 90hz, depending on what your melody is with it and where your kick is sittin...

Re: Where do you make your eq cuts?
Haha! I have Flux bittersweet. It's dead simple to use. Transient shaper does exactly that - it will bring out the transient "hit" of sometihng, making it stronger, sharper, more "hitty". OR hide the transient, making it duller and less obvious. Flux bittersweet has a dial that ...

Re: Where do you make your eq cuts?
EQing is only for vague, subtle tweaks like boost the highs a bit, cut the mids a bit, etc. if you want to remove precise frequencies, use sidechain multiband compression lol this is totally untrue depends on the tune and the elements within it, as someone else said its massively subjective I tend ...

Re: When do you make your sounds?
One thing that has helped me is to focus on percussion first, then build bass around that, using your kicks or whatever to guide the bass as needed. Maybe you already do that but idk it helped me a lot. As for getting the "perfect sound," it usually never happens, I get a sound I like and ...

And I feel like it would help me learn to be able to see what I was doin ya kno? Im obviously trying to develo...

How can I see the wave of a whole track like on soundcloud?
When you upload to soundcloud you get to see all the dynamics and changes and see where its muddy and what not. I find its really useful to see changes/corrections and actually SEE where its happening. How can I do this without actually repeatedly uploading to soundcloud? Im using Ableton Live 8.2. ...

Re: HOW CAN I GET THIS "PUSH PULL EFFECT" IN MY BREAKDOWNS?
How do you think he comes up with those sounds?! Lots and lots of Massive, especially the routing functions. Like lfo or envelope -> pitch and the same envelope -> lfo speed -> filter cutoff. So the wobble speeds up and down with the pitch. Sounds like the whole track is grinding to a halt then com...

Re: How to get the heavy drumstep lead
To answer the OP's question more specfically, try and get one high pitched sound and one mid range (they will need to compliment each other so a bit of experimenting with the 2 sounds will be needed). Make sure you EQ the 2 basslines to not conflict lots of the same frequency range, and also use di...
