Don't rush into buying gear, do a bit of research on the things suggested here and pick what you think suits you best, after all your the one controlling the set up so you want to make sure you know what you want from it.

it lets you apply fades, crossfades, edit, reverse, transpose, mangle, duplicate, and otherwise freely toss a piece of audio around like a rag doll, rather than coddle your cpu-hungry, less-stable soft-synth . Especially if you want to do heavy duty stuff to it like send it to four busses with line...

Can never seem to get mixing right when I'm stoned that has to be done sober, but for messing with ideas and trying things you sometimes wouldn't think of otherwise I thinks it's great!

I did the opposite to what your considering, switched from Logic to Ableton and I must say I'm much happier with Ableton. I find it Ableton much quicker to navigate around and I get ideas down much faster. Having said that I will probably use the two now, i.e. Ableton for creating and Logic for mixi...
