Kicks in this tune sound like 808's but I'm nowhere close to recreating them. Can somebody give me some tips about purely remaking them? I'm trying to recreate the whole song, and only thing missing are kicks.
I tried pitching 808's, making a pure sine ...

Re: playing gigs

See, this where I am irked.

If you're just going to mix tracks on a controller and not do anything special with it - you're wasting money really; you might as well bring a laptop with virtual DJ and use your touch pad to cue and press arrow keys to move the cross fader. Controller DJs spend 90 ...

Re: How do I make Synths like these?

If you wouldn't come up with "supersaws" as your answer I would be really interested in it ;) How do you achieve your sound? maybe it's just the chords that make them sound so dramatic in your song :D keep up your good work..

Well yeah there is a supersaw involved ha! We use 3 layers when we do ...

Re: Can you produce when others are listening/watching?

Just a quick easy question but hopefully bring out some interesting pointers about this but yeah uhh
Simply, myself, I can't produce when I know others can hear what I'm doing, especially when it's mixdown and drop arrangement time. I can never fully get into it because I know people next door ...

Re: Any other soundcard besides ASIO4ALL?

Re: playing gigs

I've found that mixtrack is the controller that would suit me the best, but should I get the PRO version? :6:
I'm going to buy an audio interface (sinn7 status 24|96) anyway. And I guess that status is better at handling latency and stuff than this built in I/O.

playing gigs

I was always wondering, how should I approach playing at gigs. I'm producing tunes for an little EDM project in which my two mates are involved.
Unlike me, they aren't focusing much on production, until we all get to meet up and live in one place, setup an studio ect. ect. (we are from different ...

Re: How To Make This Sound - January 2012

how do I layer these silly airy sidechained pads after drop?
that's something that I've been trying to do for a month, but I suck at pad synthesis

or maybe it's FM?

Dat Arp - how do i recreate it?

Hello. I can't manage to recreate (by recreating i mean sequencing sounds) these acid bassline, arp patterns as seen in this tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cwAzqNpV2w

Can someone give a tip or more? I'd be really grateful. I felt in love with that style, and i desperately try to remake it ...

Re: What are these things called?

I swear, seen lots of these things being reffered as raggakeys.
You can try to record some modulated piano, layered with synth on midi controller/keyboard with the same pattern as in these songs.
