Re: "Brostep" Drum Samples
I'm using 909s already, but I'm just looking for a preprocessed and prelayered but not overly prelayered that I can layer. Any other packs anyone really likes in this category?

Re: "Brostep" Drum Samples
Sorry for the long update, been really busy with schoolwork and such.
Anyway, I read the replies to the thread, and ended up going with a Loopmasters pack (http://www.loopmasters.com/product/details/1543/Loopmasters-Present-Dirty-Dubstep), and I've got to say, I'm honestly not very happy with it. I ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@mthrfnk Sounds alright, but the snare being offset is a tad irritating. The kick could use a little more punch/high end, but I really dig the chords!
@BudSpencertron That's funky as shit! Sounds super french haha. The only thing I would really change if I had to would be the claps/snare being a ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@sky Kick sounds pretty good but there's little to no punch/body in the snare. Either choose a different sample or beef it up/mix it louder. I like the pluck melody though.
@Uv not a huge fan of the intro, but liked the growls/snare a ton!

Re: "Brostep" Drum Samples
Most of the vengeance (especially the original few packs) were also stolen sounds from MP3s and such just ran through vintage warmer, so even more processing to already degraded sounds will make the quality quite bad. That's why much of them lack frequency content and sound like white noise. If you ...

Re: "Brostep" Drum Samples
@IE and Sub I have been building my own drums lately (or at least trying) with 909s and Wave Alchemy samples. They are really good clean samples, but I just feel like they're mainly only useful for minimal techno, which in all fairness was what they were made for, but it's slightly frusterating when ...

"Brostep" Drum Samples
Hey guys, looking for some drum samples (not vengeance) that are preprocessed/prelayered from drum machines and real drums. Any ideas?

Re: DSF Q&A 20: Downlink
Thanks for taking the time to do this man!
My questions are:
1. Any tips on being more focused on a tune? Like do you ever turn off the internet/eliminate distractions?
2. Do you make your own drums out of drum machine samples instead of vengeance samples, and if you do any tips?
Thanks!

@KrEs this track was actually pretty unique, although the open hats got really annoying. Either turn them down or get rid of them/
@dubby_rdam I really like the arps in this. drums sound good
@Krinj sounds pretty good, although the bass is a little too distorted.

Re: How to make a skrillex scream?
"I think skrillex ruined dubstep, but I want to know how to make the synth he uses in almost every one of his tracks because I could do it better!"
Trust me man, your mixdowns won't come close to skrilly's... but I guess that's okay because he 'ruined dubstep'

Re: Mastering?
mastering = a limiter and an eq cutting out 30 hz.
if you need anything else you need to work on your mixdown.

just curious, but does anyone know how these wavetables were made? like from real life-recordings and processing or from other synths?

The same way 90% of people are making dubstep in 140; because you get more control over the drums and such.
