Wow, I didn't even know you could do that! I just had my friend play it on his phone and I made a voice memo of that with mine

Re: Tracks that make you want to kill yourself

Post the 'tunes' that are so ridiculously awful that even cutting out your eardrum won't do the job. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Xu8U25ZDQy8#! Upon clicking I saw it had almost 4 million views. Please tell me that I'm not the only one that is crying over this. I don't...

Re: How does one create groove?

Do not keep the velocity of hits consistent under any circumstance, this makes it sound really flat and boring. Don't do it randomly, but changing dynamics can help you emphasize certain beats as well as giving it a more human sound. Also, don't feel too constrained to beats, at least on snares and ...

Re: Dirty production?

you dont! learn how to produce your own sound :studio: If trying to get a dirty production sound is copying someone else's sound then how is going for a sterile clean sound not? As for this, a lot of it is in the sound design of his synths and EQ/effects. Something I like to do for higher sounds to...

Re: kick drum/808 bass conflict

Kind of a combination of grooki's suggestions, but you could also side chain the 808 to the kick's eq in the lowest register (presumably where the overlap is, around sub 100hz) so when the 808 hits the lowest part of the kick drops out. This will make it so while they're playing independently you st...

Re: How did YOU learn to make dubstep?

First heard stuff like Skrillex, then got into the real underground shit like Flux, Dr. P, Zed's Dead. It blew my mind, and I knew this would be my life. I got rid of all my other music and listened to UKF mashups for a month straight to prepare. Pirated FL studio (they should be paying ME for my mu...

Re: Heavy bass thread

my friend...a sub at c3 isnt a sub,,, this (well, depending on how your plugin is set) if you can hear it, try an octave below. If you can still hear it, repeat, if not then keep the original octave. Otherwise it's too high Not really, C3 is a note with the fundamental (or all you'd get in a sub) a...

Re: Adventure Time Animation

it's more noticeable in some eps than others i'm guessing they did em in batches and with potentially diff animators and just didn't air the seasons in the order they were created which would make sense since it practically has had no long breaks and has a new ep every week https://www.youtube.com/...

Re: Problem with my newest song

Yeah, you could timestretch the original song, but if its too drastic and you're not going for a crazy timestretched vibe its not gonna sound good... Have you ever considered trying to... you know... Make your song not in 140? I know it sounds absolutely crazy but dubstep doesn't have to be at...

Re: Key of sample/song..

Keep in mind also, that some songs will change key or have occasional accidentals (notes outside of the main scale), so don't be too strict with yourself. As long as you have a good idea of what's going on you can break the rules, as long as it sounds good and all works together.

Re: Key of sample/song..

What makes that cheating? I rip my vinyl and use a bpm analyzer if the BPM seems a bit funny in a track. Often times i'll use the feature in FLstudio what tells me all the notes in a scale if I am unsure if a note is right or not for the key. I use the note-finding in Amplitube to see if its the de...
