Ughhhhh this groove is so sexy... I want to have sex to this... Main thing I'd say is turn the vocals WAAAAAAAY down. The song grooves too hard to have those at the foreground. Mix it in more, and turn it down, and take away some of the 80-100hz, it's overpowering the sub synth.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@Mammoth - if I'm being harsh but honest, drop leaves so much to be desired. I need a deep bass going with the melody, like a delicious wwwwwwwWWWWAAAAAAH, wwwwwwwwWWWWAAAAH oh just kidding, there it is at the second drop. Put that at the beginning. You need more percussion too. A rule of thumb I go...

Still learning ;] I'm so used to doing live sound for bands and such, and mixing for dubstep and edm in general is very different.Globalz wrote:@R3N3gAD3 the only thing i dont like about your track is the mixdown everything else is really well done! Just work on the eq'ing make sure there's no clash.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@R3N3GADE - Nice opening mix, hah gucci gucci sample. Nice verb, nice tom roll in there too. Waiting for the drop... oooh spooky! Would definitely drop this at halloween, may I? I'll let you know how it goes down. Your kick is kinda weak, could do with some beefing up in my opinion. Here comes the ...

Thank you!Voodeedoo wrote:@R3N3gAD3 - Try to not go overboard with the reverb; it's an easy tool to abuse. The mix sounds pretty clean; it could use some dirt though. It sounds very clean.
How do/should I dirt?
Horrible english intended.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@R3N3gAD3: I love Your drums, the arrangement in particular, the bass is great, too, love, how multilayered it sounds. Altho, the drums sound way in the background, You might want to make them a bit louder. You could send your stems over as well, I'd try to mix it down(gimme a PM). All in all, a re...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@Thierry D - Bro, I think this is your first post, so I'ma let you off easy and just tell you that before you put a track for feedback, you're required to leave at least 2 comments on other people's tracks, either in your post, or on their individual soundclouds. That being said, I will now check yo...

How to make drop heavier?
First off, a note for mods: I am aware of the feedback forum provided, but I believe this post to be a question of the nature of production, as I'm looking for help, not feedback. That being said, I would appreciate it if you left this topic where it is, at your discretion. So, I'm working on my fir...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@Paradigm001 Listening through my monitors, the bass is a little too big. Kind of distorted, clipping a bit. Drums are comin' in smooth. I really like the vocals so far. Could use with some percussion behind them though. Oh god that drop... very nice, sounds good. Very Nero-ish. I'd turn down the vo...

Re: Can't find this bleeping bpm...
ableton I have it, I have no idea how to use it. The HUD (wrong word for it, but you know what I mean) is terrifying. any software worth its salt: line up first downbeat with beat 1 of a measure. disable metronome. Play back two bars of music (by ear), and stop at beat one of third bar. Snip that o...

Re: Can't find this bleeping bpm...
All I need is a 2 measure sample from it. What I'd do is: Using Audacity (Google if you've not got it - its free) Export the '2 measure' clip you want to use Import the clip in to Audacity Hit ctrl-a to select the whole clip Hold shift then press space to loop play the clip Get out your tap-to-bpm ...

Re: Can't find this bleeping bpm...
I dunno if logic has a 'stretch' feature like FL, but if it does that's probably your best bet. Count your 2 measures from the sample you want, snip it there, and stretch it to fit 2 measures on the new song. Sorry, not a logic user :/ That's not a bad idea... It has a similar feature, but it's not...

And I've tried using Logic's BPM counter, Serato's BPM counter, and a slew of BPM tappers I found online.

Can't find this bleeping bpm...
Okay, so I'm remixing a song for a band. It's pretty hush hush at the moment, so I can't give too much away, but I'm using a backing track that has horns, synths, and drums all on the same track. I'm trying to splice the song into samples that I can use, but the only problem is the BPM, which seems ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
Dude, you're posting some pretty harsh criticism for someone who is clearly very inexperienced at making dubstep... Your kick is almost inaudible, snare has barely any punch and WAY too much reverb, wobbles have basically no movement (add some notching automation or something), need more variation ...

I'm going to do a lot of critique, both to make a point, and because you lovely people deserve critique <3 Please also note that I live-critique, and critique while listening. @JLProductions - Sounds a little similar to a lot of stuff I've heard, or at least the opening synth does. The opening synth...
