Re: Good way to money as a producer early on.
I've done this with male strippers... there is a market for that sort of stuff in my area. It takes little time to do a mash up in ableton and the strip teases are usually only 10-15 minutes. Usually get 150-200 a mix

Re: so i have a glitch in my project
Should get around the 24 bit problem by using audacity. dont know if you can internally route the output of the daw to the input of audacity. You can use programs like sound flower to rout between your DAW and audacity. Sound flower is mac only: http://cycling74.com/soundflower-landing-page/ Window...

Re: Adding dither screwed up my exported track!!
You only dither once. If it's getting mastered, you shouldn't be dithering. It is the final step used to cover the artifacts that occur when reducing the bit-rate. Why is the mastering friend requesting a 16bit audio file? Send it in the same sample rate and bit-rate that you have been working on in...

Re: Describe it in 3 sentences: Compression
And expansion still employs makeup gain, it is just in the negative direction (at least in my compression plugin). in what cases would you want to use expansion? I don't really understand its purpose. I've used an expander to clean up recordings. The best example is when I was doing ADR and couldn'...

Re: Describe it in 3 sentences: Compression
Compression reduces bangin soundz over a cold-ass lil certain threshold while soundz on tha down-low remain unaffected. A compressor might provide a thugged-out degree of control over how tha fuck quickly it acts, n' you can put dat on yo' toast. Compression is often used up in da music thang ta mak...

Re: Driving me mad!!!!
Minor bass root notes? I'm not really sure what your saying. And what bass? I'm stuck with head phones or hi fi speakers as I'm house sitting but I really can only just hear the bass... So it's either too low in level or a really deep sine that cant be reproduced on everyday house hold speakers. So ...

Re: Advice for first audio interface
Just use a 1/4 to RCA cables you have to connect the mixer to the interface. Then get two TRS cables to go from the outputs of the interface to your amp. Too easy!

Re: Advice for first audio interface
Depends on the output of your mixer, the focusrite can acomodate both XLR's or TRS conectors (XLRs are your standard microphone cables and TRS are like a headphone jack, but the interface takes a 1/4 inch headphone jack that's the size of a guitar lead plug). These are balanced cables. Stay away fro...

I/O's apply to microphones of course... if you ever head in that direction.fragments wrote:This.wub wrote:What's your budget?
Do you have plans to expand into purchasing hardware?
Otherwise I'd say focusrite as well. Just watch the way they count I/Os, it can be a bit confusing at first.

Ahh that far back! This is the same feeling I got when I found out the riff in Led Zelplin's, 'When the Levee Breaks ' was written by Memphis Minni in 1936.
