Hiya dubstep communitay, I put this UK Funky-sounding demo out not long ago and I am looking for feedback before working on more tunes. :z:

Here's a kwaito-inspired (Aero Manyelo vibe) house song I did myself (looking for feedback):

Yea, I think I'd be scared to try it in a DJ set on a big sound system. Earkill. Bombastic percussion though.

Re: Young Canadian Primitive - DMT (UK Funky/Montreal)

Thank you. Lots of hours spent on this one.
Both vocal samples are taken from the movie Enter the Void which is about the drug DMT.

Young Canadian Primitive - C.Y.B.A. (Montreal)

Soundcloud

Somewhat UK Funky (what I usually do) though I have a hard time categorizing this song.
Any feedback or comment on genre is appreciated.

Mute the kind of orchestra sound once in a while and let that funky bass breathe.
Otherwise, it sounds complete.

Re: Zero and Zest - Lab Rats (Funky dubstep)

I don't always like mid-range wobble, but when I do it has to be a great song.
Good stuff.

Looking for feedback.
Sounds more like house than dubstep, thought I'd post it here.

Re: Static - Northern Lights (ambient, chill, Phaeleh style)

By generic I meant that your samples don't sound very much your own. That may be an aesthetic choice (minimalism), but you may want to play around a bit with the sounds (add layers, effects, etc.).

Re: Commit - Everything Breathes (Deep/Dark/Techy)

That kind of dubstep I can still enjoy today.
Sounds like you know what you're doing.
Perhaps make use of vocals or other lead instrument (unless you like having a mostly rhythmic production)?

Re: Static - Northern Lights (ambient, chill, Phaeleh style)

Dat's a real nice, well-structured groove (reminiscent of Arkist, Sorrow and the likes). Your drums & synth samples needs to be somewhat tweaked, they sound pretty "generic" (perhaps it's just a matter of compression/mastering).

Re: Nice Monday - Don't Wake Daddy

I'm not the biggest fan of huge wobbles, but you've got some interesting sound shaping going on in there. Props.
However, I'd prolly put the kick drum louder (maybe the rest of de drums too).
Is the song mastered in any way (i.e. Ozone)?
