Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@RyLee Well I think that the bass and leads fade in a bit to slow after the kick or snare hits. It could be a bit tighter together I tink =). @Sunshaft Thanks mate! Yeah I'm trying my best to make the drop a beast, but i'm having a bit of trouble getting it to strike with more power than the part be...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@RyLee Like the flow of this track mate. The bass synth is really something else. I like it. The sidechain is a bit too noticable for my taste, but thats just my preference. @thelastthing This could become a very heavy track. But the mix is still a bit unbalanced I think. The kick, snare and sub cou...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
Thanks everyone for the comments so far! great stuff, and some excellent tips. The fact that all of you are being creative with electronic music just gives it much more credibility than a non-producer telling me what to do. I really appreciate it! @mthrfnk I'm currently using a mix between Albino 3 ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@JTL The track is still a bit "empty". I think it could use a bit more atmosperic ambience. The vocals get a bit messy after a while. The harmony is not always perfect. But I like the vibe. The vocals give a bit of soul to the track. When the punchy piano-like synth comes in, it really sta...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
Everyone thanks a lot for the feedback! I will probable make a better intro, because the drop deserves it. Crewcutz try to make intro a bit louder, t has sooooo nice melody in background. do a bit stronger buildup, and there is a little gap between reversed ride and first kick. basebass nice song, b...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@Hysterics The overall sound seems a bit distorted, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think it can be cleaned up a bit, but Its not bad. A bit short to judge tho. @Crow Steppa I would personally reduce a bit of the reverb on the track, but the sound is okay =). The drop is a bit sudden, but ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@ Stereoblen Vey clear mix mate! Like the wobbles and the overal flow of the song so far. It's still a bit short, so it's hard to judge how it will continue etc. @listen_silent Love the progression the basses make. I'm a big fan of dark dubstep, so yeah this is awesome to my ears! I think the mix i...

Re: Ableton Live.
Wow, this topic came in just in time =). I am at the point where I want to switch to Ableton too. The only thing that worries me, is that I have to start all over again. I have been a FL studio 8 user for quite a while now, and I know this DAW very well. I just hope that I'm not taking an unneccesar...

Re: How To Sound Like Skrillex & Make Skrillex Bass
To sound like that twat please visit brostep forum.. skrillex is a wasteman, that shit is not DUBstep :W: Just because it's not dubSTEP, does not automaticly mean it's shit. It's just categorised wrong. I still think it's (either progressive- or figit) house music. Just because some of his songs ar...

Here are my basses. They're not much, though it does have a lot of processing. But I have not resampled any of these sounds. Straight from massive hehe.

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
I have created something similar to The Edge in the last week. It doesn't have the same groove tho, but the type of reese basses are aimed to sound like this song. Even the same type of drums. Ofcourse it won't sound as big and clear as the real thing, for I have not perfected my mixing skills yet. ...

Re: gain structure and mixing aka THE MONEYSHOT THREAD
What are the major differences to the sound when processed a second time? I mean... I exported the snare to a .wav. So it is exported with the compression and all other stuff. I don't really see how it could sound different in a new project, when you don't add any new filters or effects. Don't peopl...

Re: gain structure and mixing aka THE MONEYSHOT THREAD
Just a quick question. When I build a snare sound from multiple other snares, and you add your typical filters, EQ, compression, saturation etc etc. And then export that snare sound to .WAV format and load it into a new project (with no new effects or filters applied whatsoever, so a clean channel)....

Re: Back to the core, Sub bass and Drums
Thanks for taking the time to comment =). I agree with you about not comparing to other artists too much. Howerver, right know I'm not really aiming for an original sound, because I'm currently not producing full length tracks. Im merely trying to improve my mixing skills, and for that I really need...
