Re: DJ Phantasy & Nicky Blackmarket feat. Skibadee - Crank R

Then maybe its time to switch to something new or maybe just upgrade? I know its tough because you're so familiar with Cubase.... but a change in software can give you a different edge and a change in perspective...it can jump start your creativity and add something new you didn't have before.

I honestly can't help you with that, I've never used Cubase so I don't know how the mastering works but I'm sure some tutorials on youtube can aide you in this matter.

Re: Borgore Style [Talking Basslines] FILTHY - Need Feedback

The build up is actually good- which is something not a lot get right. however, the Drop is simply not kicking enough. i think its the drums, they need more clash during the drop. Perhaps experiment with some hats and place some Crashes/open hats to give it more oomph.

Otherwise its cool.

Re: BillGaria - The Element of Surprise (Drumstep/Fastpaced)

You're really good at tune-making but the drop lost its appeal after the fast-paced and drum-filled build up in the beginning. The build up is supposed to be more tense and less melodic in order for the drop to have impact in comparison. Personally, If I were you, I'd pay more attention to the more ...

Re: Dysek - Amateur, Un-signed, Dubstep and Electronic Music

You're really developed as a tune-maker. I can tell that much- but you're not made for dubstep much- you seem way too sophistocated for that. You should be looking forward to carrying on the sound to something more grand- perhaps the next phase of Dubstep or maybe I.D.M. (or maybe a blend of the two...

Re: DJ Phantasy & Nicky Blackmarket feat. Skibadee - Crank R

I'm surprised by how good your tune is, good drums, good build up, good tunage, sparse and syncronised. However, your kicks and snares could use a bit more hit and perhaps a down in pitch. Your bass needs to be a bit louder and have a bit more subbass to hit harder. Otherwise its mint.

Re: Xanja feat. Tennis Rodman - True Ganjaman

your drums are good, Im glad you got that down but you're too generous with your Tunage. The melodies don't stop all throughout so you don't let listeners anticipate when things will come together next. Be more open and sparse with your melody- the same way you are with the drums- have it syncronise...

Re: Fixion - Funk'n Roll (100bpm/glitch-hop)

Snares need more hit and not a swoop- otherwise it doesn't feel like a hip hop beat. And as for the missing bass, either give the tune some bass or give it to the kicks. Otherwise- its creative and well-worked on.

P.S.- the hats- don't be afraid to play around with them- it makes a difference.

Re: [Dubstep Preview] Kurfew - Dopplershift (NoGoodInk Remix

Your building up of tension is good and so is the production. However, you fail a little bit to distinguish the drops from other more softer and tenser areas- the result is a beat that gets a bit too much to listen to. Focus more on shifting atmospheres and less on bad tunage and notation. Be more s...

Re: Nootch! & Metalmorphosis - b00bz

The beginning is sort of a put off and fails to build tension so by the time it gets to the drop, the beat is worn out there is no kick to it. Should have momentum for that sort of thing. Otherwise the production is good for brostep- doing a good job- just pay more attention to the notation and how ...

Re: Is my dubstep track bad?

Nah, its good- but it just seems that you have a more fluid, slower and a bit more ambient personal taste in music. You should follow that suit more- after all, the best part of the song was the part before the second drop. You have good tunage.

Lol wut? Don't be so butthurt. I'm just pointing out what I think are faults in your production. I don't care if you played on Obama's Birthday. I never said you productions were shit, so no need to give me your C.V.

Re: iRam - Power Outage [Sludgestep/Filth] Bass overload!!!!

Wow. I don't quite know what to say about this. While it's definitely impressive in terms of production and generation of sound. But melodically......I guess I just fail to see any melody, actually. But if you're going for what it sounds like when Optimus Prime has sex, then you're doing a pretty go...

Re: Iarba-Vafan Cullo

Totally digging your style. Futuristic and keeping with the old school. I'd say give the kicks and snares more push and impact. Otherwise, I love what you're doing. Try also adding some fading sound effects over the top.

Also, those crashes, they're haywire (too loud and too high-pitched). Please do something about that and try to have more shuffling hats instead.

Re: Simix - Become

Fantastic feel and sound but I feel like it could use more feedback on some of the keyboard sounds you have on. Also I think it's biggest drawback is that it doesn't change much, it should have more parts to it so it doesn't get too repetitive.

Fantastic and unique. I'd recommend having a bit more ping-pong delay on the voice (especially in the beginning) to give it a dreamy and long lasting effect- Otherwise, this is great.

Re: New to making dubstep, need feedback please :)

Listen, there's no need for anyone to tell you whether you're supposed to go on or not. It's a personal decision. No one ever starts out sounding good, it's with practice and ongoing work do you begin putting things together and then you find yourself in musical comfort. Just practice your technique...

Re: Need a lot of feedback on this track please!

You actually have something on your hands if you put more effort into the properties the sounds have. Add more sub-bass, make the over-bass more wobbly and robotic. Get rid of those weak leads and bring out the voice more. Don't be afraid to make the sound harsher and more distorted. Also, please do...
