as major labels have apparently more or less taken over RSD to promote their 30 quid-classic album reissues, it seems like independent labels are moving away from it.

Does anyone know of any overview of interesting releases for this year's RSD? I can only see mainstream releases in the official list, while I have bought records by Boddika/Joy O and Floating Points there in the past.

Reviewing Pearson Sound's Clutch EP back in 2012, I said "I'm not quite sure what one is supposed to call this music." He hasn't made it any easier since. [...] But what made them great was David Kennedy's unusual ear for melody. Reviews like this help me abandon reading reviews after all...

i don't think the album is club-oriented, actually, apart from around 3 tracks. it's more of a listener's album to me.

bought it yesterday and sounds great so far, thanks for the heads up here

yea ppl, that's the one. maybe the most interesting track to me on the mix.

there are still some really good tunes coming out on swamp, but the overall quality has been going down a bit lately. i dunno, maybe it's also a qualitative 'edge' relevant here.

kind of feels like swamp is already dying slowly.

even though i wish he did more classy, stripped back stuff like 'halfout', paleman's drum programming can do no wrong
