Re: KRKs - are shit??
Small world eh, wait till you see the Spiral - most people never go in it apart from postgrads but you might get a chance to visit like I did. It's a big anechoic room with virtually zero reverb and a 25.4(really!) surround monitor setup in a kind of sphere around you with 4 subs in the corners Tha...

Unless of course you’re Jimmy Savile. In which case, don’t do what makes you happy.

Re: Skrillex > Benga
Skrillex has at least maintained a clear direction (even if I don't like it much) while Benga has gone from making pretty inconsistent (just my opinion don't flame me) but occasionaly hard-hitting tunes to making astonishingly irrelevant music and also some really bad pop via Magnetic Man. Benga fe...

Re: Advice on starting out on guitar
Like others have said alternate picking is something you really should learn from the start, I got into the habit of just down picking and now trying to alternate pick is slowing me down so it's good to learn it from day one. If you have an acoustic you can get your hands on then I recommend learnin...

Re: The Clean "Live-Feel" of DnB Drums?
Noisia layer programmed breaks and hits from Superior Drummer onto their drums to give them a more live feel, I try and get a heavy kick and snare and then layer with lighter, slightly hi passed acoustic hits and very slight reverb on the whole bus just to give it a bit more of a room sound.

Re: Untitled-Drum and sound loop intro
This should of gone in the WIP Thread, this section is for finished tracks.
The drums sound too flat and straight, I don't like that loud synth that comes in about half way through. The bell type pad sounds quite nice though, work on the mixing and try and find some better drum samples.

Re: church or tubular bell VST?
Personally I'd go with samples but FM8 is great for bells, it's the only sound I can ever make in that synth

Re: Neurofunkish Dubstep
This is so sick! That bass is killer, I agree about the snare though...it has a nice punch but it needs more sustain I think, try layering one of those clangy Current Value style snares on it and see how that sounds?
