Re: The infamous Sherman filterbank

I've never used one, but I'm assuming the one you got in 2011 you bought used, as they've not been in production for years and years, is it possible yours is in need of some repair? You should be able to get usable sounds by just fiddling long enough if it's working correctly.

Re: Left monitor picking up radio station

I used to have a bass amp that every now and again would " catch the holy ghost" and start receiving gospel music. Tin foil can make decent shielding but it will make your studio will look like an Andy Warhol project.

Advice for broken controller keyboard?

So I recently realized a few of the keys on my Korg Kontrol 49 are no longer responding, they're spaced randomly across the key board, any advice?

It's a few years old now so "take it back" isn't an option. Thanks in advance.

Re: Headphone jacks fucked on laptop, anyone able to help?

There's a burnishing tool you can get that looks just like a headphone jack. You plug it in, twist it around a few times, and it cleans the socket. Might help.

Not sure about plugs but what about a second hand Korg nanokontrol or one of those ribbon synths or that little delay unit they make is pretty cool.

Re: turn table platter noise

One thing that helped me with all sorts of issues with my decks was learning how to properly set everything up. I hadn't given it much thought at first, but turns out there are some very specific guidelines you can follow to get the best operation from your decks. Also a bum needle can cause the ...

Re: Are my speakers good?

JBL do make some nice studio monitors, they also make Hi-Fi systems. I googled the model number, they seem to be marketed as a budget studio monitor, but only seem popular with the home theater crowd. I'm sure they could sound good with the right amp, probably not gonna be a truly flat frequency ...

What about putting it in a cold environment, if you've got a big enough freezer! If it doesn't draw it out, it'll put him to sleep while your digging through the insides of the monitor.

Re: Turn a shitty portable recorder into an amazing one

Have you used a dr-05 before? I haven't had that big a problem with noise. Honestly I'd expect a large diaphragm condenser too pick up more unwanted background stuff. Position is everything with these handhelds, you've got to use your body as a sound damper sometimes and get things as close to the ...

Hey thanks skin-e, yeah there are a few places where I let the wobz drag a little out of time for a second. I think I like it like that though, feels right for some reason. Maybe that's not what you're talking about though.

Nice tune in your sig by the way, drums are mental in the begining.

Re: Outbound - Missile (Electro / Tribal)

Nice tight production,(like everyone's already pointed out). I especially liked that last few bars at the end, maybe that could be a break somewhere in the middle of the tune as well? I don't know, not really my genre, sounds good though.
