db meter in Ableton
So i was just wondering, when looking for the peak db in a solod track that is using effects from the return channels is the peak db i should be watching on that tracks fader or on the master fader? Cause they are always different and the master is always hitting higher and I assume its from the ...

Re: How do I Know if I am working in 24 bit or not?
In Ableton go to options, then the record tab (5th one down), the second option down sets up the bit depth for recording into the daw for bounce downs, sampling etc. For exporting go to File then Export audio, the bit depth for export can be set from here (8th option down), hope this helps.

Ive checked numerous threads on the ableton forum and here and cant seem to find an answer.. Can ...

Re: Lithium (Invader Slim Remix WIP)- Evanescence (Dark/Bros
There are crashes in the drop i guess i just have to make them cut through the mix more which ive been having a lot of trouble doing. Would i want to cut my bass around like 7-9Khz or something? Everytime i cut for cymbals and crashes my bass seems to be lacking after.

Re: Lithium (Invader Slim Remix WIP)- Evanescence (Dark/Bros
I don't mind Evanesence all things considered.
The kick/snare are slightly on the flat sounding and could do with some processing to get them to come through in the mix a bit more. Also would've liked to hear a slightly more prominent hat pattern, it only becomes really apparent in a couple of ...

Re: Order Of Processing
EQ on pretty much every channel.
Um.
That's about it...
I generally find that if my EQing is on point I can raise the individual channel volume faders to taste and have it all sit right. I've experimented with putting reverb on some of my busses, and there is one song on my soundcloud that has ...

Re: Order Of Processing
I don't think anyone is going to give you a definitive answer.
Processing is entirely up to taste in many regards.
Whatever sounds good to you.
Yeah i know the amounts are pretty much to taste. But what i mean is there an order that you do so?
Like are you supposed to EQ before you compress? And ...

I do hear a slight bit of distortion in the sub as well. Are you low passing your Sub and sidechaining it with your kicks?

Another Work In Progress. It'd be much appreciated it if you gave some brutally honest constructive criticism or any tips in areas you feel are lacking. Thanks for the listen! :)
Send me in the direction of your tune and i'd gladly return the favor!

Yes alot of people do but it doesnt mean that you have to. For the first 8 months I produced i just used my computer keyboard, FlStudio, and headphones. It just depends on what youre comfortable with, honestly.

What is the order of processing that you guys usually do?
Personally, I recently started using a saturator first occasionally to make the sound a little louder, then EQ, compression, distortion, then stereo effects if i feel it is needed, then a tiny bit of reverb to taste.

Hell yeah man, Strange all day!!! Thank you very much dude i will definitely take all of that and apply it for sure! Quick question though. When layering drums do you EQ them all together or EQ separately? Ive been trying to get that big big sound for my drums for a minute. Again, I appreciate the ...
