Studio Monitors Vs Home Stereo speakers.
Without getting into acoustic treatments (Whole seperate issue.) What are the main reasons to drop a grand on a small set of studio monitors, when I could spend a grand on a big home system with subs? I understand flat response but what if the home system has flat response? What do you guys recommen...

Re: Best Way To Optimize CPU
If you have the means to upgrade then do so. If not use what you have the best you can. Don't let low CPU stand in the way of your music. I honestly have a piece of junk single core 2gb ram emachines. It runs fl 9 and ableton 8 pretty well to a certain point. I resample a lot to begin with, but that...

Re: Becoming More Melodic
Fl studio has a riff generator in the tools section. It's useful when your having a block or can't figure out notes and stuff. You can switch the vst to whatever you want too. That's the cheaters way though. Coming up with your own melody is tough. I can tell you that I always have one in my head be...

Re: waves Maxxbass: Helpful or hurtful?
I got it for about a thousand American from a small music shop here. I have no kids, live in a cheap apartment and work a shitty job. Producing is my life, its all I spend my money on. I didn't just buy it for Maxxbass, I bought it for the wide variety of crap in it. Some seem good and have unique f...

Re: Looking to get into production, but have a few questions
You don't need to start out with any hardware. Just learn your daw as much as you can. Learn massive and your other vsts. Once you feel you have a good grasp on the basics of producing audio, then look at the akai mpk mini. It has a bit of everything at a low price. You can see what style of midi co...

Re: waves Maxxbass: Helpful or hurtful?
Very silly money... Haha. I got it for all the tools it comes with. Seemed to be the highest quality and most complete I could find. I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of these...

waves Maxxbass: Helpful or hurtful?
So I just picked up maxxbass (and the diamond bundle) by waves. Even with the default patch you can hear and feel quite the difference in the lower ranges. I was wondering why I had never heard of this in the forum? Is there a huge downside I'm missing? I know if you pump it to hard it will sound fu...

Re: How to make ableton sound good
I just switched from FL to Ableton and the learning curve is steep!!! However my mixes sound actually louder in Ableton, even With a dry master channel! Are you sure that Fruity Limiter isn't what is making your tunes so big sounding in FL?
