Skrill Question (NOT monster bass bullshit)

Hey, So there's this sound in a Skrill song I heard recently that I really like but I can't quite figure it out. Its a real short little stab of what I think is based off of a square wave but what comes after that is a bit uncertain for me. Check it out and let me know if you can come up with anythi...

Re: Any Logic Users Updated To Mountain Lion ?

I've upgrade and everything is fine. Upgrade away. There aren't many functional changes between Lion and Mountain Lion. Its similar to the Leopard to Snow Leopard upgrade hence the continuation of the "Lion" aspect of the name. Little is done in the way of how the computer processes or und...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

Inconnu: I like the general idea and the pitched elements are pretty cool and minimal like what I thiinkk you're going for but a lot of the drums sound pretty "sample pack" to me. They need more personality and body. Especially in the hats and those pitched 808 sounding snaretom things. Al...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Word, Yeah you would actually be surprised what a little experimenting combined with some creative filtering can do to an otherwise recognizable sound. Pretty incredible stuff. Even if you can't record anything yourself, experimenting with audio files and different sound effects makes for some reall...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

So don't use them. Go record your toilet flushing and then notch the shit out of it. Not that that sound sounds particularly like a toilet flushing but you see what I'm getting at here? To me a Reese is a style of processing rather than a type of bass. If you're getting all into the specifics shit t...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Wow haven't been on here in ages... Glad to see my Reese Thread is still kickin! Reversed, the best tip i can give you is you really need a great starting sound. Notching and Comb Modulating a sound without crisp highs and full body in the low end is going to sound as dull after as it did before! Wo...

Re: Automating/Assigning Macro Control to individual LFO amo

Just automate the LFO amp knob Nah like I need to automate the size of the amount that is being modulated not the intensity or volume of the LFO itself. You get what I mean? The amp knob does change the size. Set your LFO to the max (so it wraps around the whole knob) then automate the amp, it shou...

Automating/Assigning Macro Control to individual LFO amounts

Hey guys so I have been playing about in massive and I'm trying to figure out whether its possible to use a macro to alter the amount that an LFO is effecting. For example the longer you drag the LFO the longer the green line that goes around the knob gets. Its there any way to assign a macro to thi...

Re: Headphones: Are they suitable to produce with?

You should try to look into open rather than closed headphones. If you have to mix in headphones a closed back pair will give you an immensely less accurate representation than open back will. It messes with the audio field and you can't hear things right.

Re: Headphones: Are they suitable to produce with?

basically all top level audio pros use ultrasones or grado. Absolute load of crap. :a: Not that they aren't good headphones but that kind of generalization is practically blasphemy! What you should say is, Basically all top level audio pros use either... ultrasones, grado, Sennheiser, sony, beyerdy...

Re: Headphones: Are they suitable to produce with?

I produce strictly in iPod headphones Yeah I've found that my song sounds the best in them because it eliminates most of it, therefore making my entire mixdown sound, on the whole, much more clean. :6: No if only I could get everyone else to stop using DECENT equipment.... ;-) Right? I don't know h...
