Re: Vocal/Whisper/Noise Atmos Thing

it's just white noise, vocal breath or the tail of a cymbal crash with huge amounts of reverb on it and sidechained. you can eq/filter/add effects at your own discretion.

Re: Suggest dirty garage/bass/house

I'm also tryin' to find songs in a heavy-mid-range-bass-garage sound.
stuff like the Hellcat habstrakt remix is a perfect example:

Re: Vocoding guitar audio through synth patch ??

is there any VST that does this...takes audio clips and plays them with your synth patch ? I've seen Roland make a guitar synth/sample pedal...where you need to attach a midi-pickup on the guitar to play it. I think there's a version of Melodyne that converts your audio into midi notes, maybe I shou...

Vocoding guitar audio through synth patch ??

I guess I don't know vocoders well enough or maybe I'm just retarded...perhaps both are apt. Anyway, is it possible to use a vocoder to make an audio clip of guitar play through my synth patch ? With both the dynamics AND the melody of the original guitar audio...but the timbre of the synth patch. W...

Re: How do you like my "artist" name

I like the sound of it pretty well...although a more proper portmanteau of those two words might be "Krue". If I heard a sub.fm DJ shout it out, I'm not sure how I'd type it into google....probably the way the last guy spelled it, and then you might lose some results.

Re: 2nd drop & variation !?

People make fun of this question because you can do literally anything other than repeat the drop the exact same way...and you will have effectively added variation. Here are some idea's: --add a new melody / synth --add some vocal samples / stabs --add harmonies --add a new distinct layer onto one ...

Re: Is EQ'ing Kick And Snare By Note Necessary?

for me it depends on how long the drum rings out. if a snare is just a quick 'Chh' or the kick is just a quick thud then i probably wont bother, but if the sample is longer, with a bit of a note you can hear...like a snare that goes 'toong' ... or a booming kick, then yes tune it to the key of the s...

Re: If You Spotted & Had To Name A New Sound...

can't really give it a proper name without hearing it 1st, but typically you would name it after the feeling or imagery it evokes in your mind, the place it started or perhaps use an onomatopoeia . Of course, it's also popular just to combine names or add a new descriptive word in front of an alread...

Re: Vocal Effect

Not pitched down, but the 'formants' have been reduced.
Other than that, there might be mild touch of a phaser or flanger on it...and a little reverb.

Re: The Prototypes - Abyss, Razor LFO bass help please.

I got real close, quickly with massive and ableton. Saw -12 st and square wave at 0 --> blend down ramp lfo slightly with sine @ 1/16 speed and attach it to the amp --> make a quick plucky envelope and attach it to the pitch of both osc. and modulate 24 st --> a good amount of white niose --> parabo...

Re: Memtrix - Mind Control "Rising Lead"

sounds like it might be something as simple as a saw wave...spread with the unison...or detuned with another oscillator...it's a bit hard to hear but it doesnt really sound like the pitch is rising. if anything (to me) it sounds like it might be falling a semi-tone or 2 at first and then playing out...

i wouldnt really consider these wet, they have that metallic sound you get by adding a really short delay to your synth. also could play with comb filters.

Re: Kick Drum Sound Help

it just sounds like saturation or mild distortion on the decaying bass note aspect of the kick, to me.
not much different from any old school hardcore techno, gabber, hardstyle or jumpstyle kick...just not as heavily distorted.
