Re: Online production courses - advice please

Geez. Give me a quarter of what you're paying for any online production school and I'll teach you for life. Through skype, giving you sessions, lessons etc. I'm using Ableton Live 9 Suiteee Didn't you move to LA to attend production school? https://www.dubstepforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=268921 ...

Re: Arranging multiple synths in Ableton

Are you working in session view?? If you are. You're crazy. Just copy and paste the clip from one synth to the other in arrangement view and organize/delete which notes you want to keep in both clips. Is that what you're asking? Highlight the clip and CTRL+C then CTRL+V on the other synth to do a qu...

Re: Ableton Live 9 vs. FL Studio 11

Went from FL Studio 9 - Cubase - FL Studio 10 - Ableton Live 8, Ableton Live 9 Suite. Currently loving Ableton Live 9.. the routing for groups, return tracks, sidechaining, seeing all the preview of all the plug-ins on the bottom, freezing and flattening feature, etc. It's really hard to get used to...

Re: Searching for good VST instruments

NI Massive, Lennar Digital Sylenth1, Spire, Serum for Sub-Bass, Lead synths, Bass growls etc.

XLN Addictive Drums is probably better suited for all genres.

TruePianos for the piano.

Re: Mixing arps to sound distant in your mix but still clear

1. Bandpass the arp, For example..cut around 400hz with a highpass & 14khz with a low pass. 2. Get abletons OTT compressor preset and set it around 20%-50% to make it sound sharper even when it lowers in volume, 3. Put a reverb into your chain and set it to around 100% wet - 80% dry (RP-Verb is ...

https://soundcloud.com/chromarhythm/dubshitv3ish/s-9xSgF Long processing chains. Having a clean sound to start with....i.e. Massive is what I used. EQ, Compression, Reverb, Saturation etc. No one taught me, besides getting hints from what producers have said in interviews & on twitter.... the b...

Re: I wanna talk monitors again

If you can, try a few different sets out by listening to your reference tracks on them. These are tracks you know inside out. There's experienced engineers who complain about 1000 quid Genelecs and mix on old Tannoys.. it comes down to preference. ^^^^ nailed it. Experience outweighs anything. You ...

Re: I wanna talk monitors again

KRK Rokit 6s are alright.... from personal experience. M-Audio 8 DX2s sound pretty good but there's some problems with a lot of customers monitors sadly. They sound pretty amazing for the price though. I would honestly just get something cheap and save up for Genelec monitors or something like that.

Re: Good Massive Presets Thread

I'm pretty sure you have some presets as good starting points....just mess with everything in there yourself to create something new/clean sounding...then put a shit ton of things on your effects chain that would obviously make sense and sound good.

Re: LFOTool: Best for sidechaining

For FL Studio users there is "GrossBeat" which is already a built-in plug in and does the same exact thing. LFOTool is pretty old....I guess there's a lot of hype going back into it since Nicky Romero posted his own version today which is a total rip off of LFOTool and x10 shittier...and h...
