Re: Automating fm8 mod wheel in ableton?
yeah a macro knob. but first you have to click "configure" and then choose a parameter within fm8, I click on the mod wheel and it should pop up on the fm8 tab in Ableton so I can draw in the automations from there in the arrangement view.... which at this point.. I am not 100% sure I wou...

Re: Automating fm8 mod wheel in ableton?
I am currently having the same problem mapping the mod wheel. I tried looking around in fm8 for another solution.. I'm not sure why when i try to map it and click on the "mod wheel" nothing happens, but it works for pretty much every other parameter. What are you trying to map it to? A ma...

Image-Line Products: seasonal discounts?
Just wondering if Image-Line has like a seasonal discount that they do every year that I don't know about. I'm looking to buy Harmor, but it's pretty expensive at full price ($150.00).

Ableton offers some compensation if you're a student. Looks like up to 40% off at first glance. https://www.ableton.com/en/shop/education/

Re: Sine Shaper AU (Waveshaper that can make a perfect sine?
And then spend a year studying DSP just to understand what the hell they're talking about. Parabol and Sine are pretty radically different. A parabol is an exponential rectifier, the sine is just doing some foldback. With a parabol, 1 and -1 map to 1, with a sine they map to 0. Massive doesn't show...

Re: Bitwig Studio New DAW
Here's my biggest problem with the demo. When I open up Massive in a track and start fooling around with knobs, it takes the focus away from the DAW so that the spacebar no longer triggers the play button. This is something that I can do in Ableton. I will write the notes out and then start fooling ...

Re: About Creativity
I've recently began to think about this problem. I'm working in ableton and it just seems like all the tracks I make are extremely stale, so I've begun consciously glitching up my tracks and making small variations (bouncing audio really does help, it opens up a whole new array of options!) What I'm...

Re: Do you guys incorporate guitar?
I've been thinking recently about incorporating guitar solos into my tracks. The thing is I'm having trouble making a synth guitar sound real... for obvious reasons. So I take it you don't play? I do, but I never record it and use it in my songs. I'm not good enough and I haven't played in awhile. ...

Re: Question on mixdown process - turning the levels down
You should definitely use the Utility device if you plan on changing the volume of a track throughout a track. That way, you can still adjust the levels using the channel fader during the mixdown stage. If you are turning down the volume fader, you should still make sure that the signal is not clipp...

There's a pretty clear difference between sampling and stealing IMO. If you even have to ask yourself, "is this cheating?" then you are probably stealing.

Then make some mashups of songs with sounds you like. Plenty of people do that and then give them away for free.Blueminthia wrote:@wub I'm more of a DJ than Producer. I like putting wicked sounds together, but I do not have the patience for making sounds.

Re: A Problem In Ableton Live 9
That is because your amp plugin is not in the "main bass" channel, it is affecting both "main bass" and "subbass". You need to click and drag it so that it is right next to the massive plugin. As you can see in your picture, there is some gray space between them. If tha...
