Re: Music Production and Drugs
I've produced while tripping a few times. The first time I was on 5 tabs of acid and could not understand ANY of the knobs or names of anything on the program. I had problems remembering how to open up ableton. But, After a Shpongle show I was on the same amount of tabs and gained so many ideas from...

Turntable not picking up in dj software
Alright, I have a show coming up in three weeks, so my friend thought it'd be cool to try using turntables instead of my launchpad and loaned me his Numark iDJ3. It seems pretty snazzy, has everything I will need, but there's one problem, the virtual dj software won't pick it up as a midi controller...

How to make this sound.
I've heard this noise used in a few different songs, and I want to do so much more with it, but I haven't a clue how to make it. It happens around 1:15, I tried to get the link to play exactly at that time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geW8R8jivnc&feature=player_detailpage#t=74s The thing I ca...

@manudiao
Now, that song of yours is amazing. This will be annoying, but what type of bass are you using. Or, what wave did you use for the oscillators?

No plug in, I recorded my friend playing. The only plugins I used were for reverb, panning, eqing, and stuff like that.manudiao wrote:@Flippity Love the dark vibes combined with the violin. Which plugin did you use for that violin? Love that tune. Gonna follow you on SC....

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@withsler The intro is very crisp. The breakdown is very old skool. I dig it. I feel the bass need more thickness, if you know what I mean. The last transition is nifty. @antman Oh my the drop is extremely fun to listen to. You just have some sharp synths shooting during some of the half beats and s...

Re: Tips on being more creative?
Grow an imagination or embark on a psychonautic journey into the depths of your mind, buddy. Open your eyes and ears to the world you live around. Look at the street art, nature, people in your neck of the woods; listen to the noises outside your house, in your local park, go to an abandoned factory...

Re: Song Idea Discussion
I've always advocated creating music that narrated some sort of event, I'm really excited to see how much effort you've put into this. While the story itself is very simple (just my opinion), the imagery is very vivid and has a ton of potential for soundscapes and ambiances that can make a really b...

Song Idea Discussion
Hey howdy, hey. I'm posting this so I can talk about a song/album idea I have. I'm doing this more or less to get feedback and maybe some ideas on what to add to it. I'm a big talker so this will be very descriptive. I'll give you some background on my experience first. I have been working with elec...

Re: Considering getting a 24 or32 channel mixing board
I keep hearing mixed view of mackies and soundcraft. I don't know, I might just bite the bullet and buy the A&H zed24. It's relatively cheap for that size mixer, so I should be fine.

Money doesn't matter. I have read about allen and heath, I was thinking about getting a Zed 24. I only heard good things about that one. Do you know anything about bus ammounts, i.e. 4 bus or 6 bus mixer

Considering getting a 24 or32 channel mixing board
I know nothing about them besides the basic functions. I'm creating this thread to get opinions from current or past mixer users on which brands and types I should look for. My goal I want to achieve from using a big ol' mixer is to set up a ton of already mastered tracks in my DAW, send them to the...

Re: How do you remove the Live 8 launchpad edition?
Yeah I actually spent the 500 dollars on the program, I don't want the free program that came with my launchpad. So, that's why it's pissing me off. I didn't spend 500 on a limited 8 track, 8 scene version of ableton

When I install the shit from the launchpad cd it added in a live 8.0...i can't remember the last number, but I uninstalled it. I can't re authorize my live 8. I DON'T K...
