Ableton, producing on 2 different laptops

It's been a while DSF. I've been working hard on some songs and what not. I have Ableton 9 installed on my work laptop and personal PC. Originally i only made tracks at home but with my recent schedule change i have a lot of free time at work. Does anyone else produce on two different laptops? The V...

Re: Ohmicide, favorite distortion type

Does anyone know what multband distortion is? Are there any technical conversation held on DSF anymore?

Ohmicide, favorite distortion type

Started really getting into multiband distortion VST's. Currently teaching myself the inner workings of Fabfilter Saturn and Ohmforce Ohmicide. Working with Saturn made it much easier to understand the controls in Ohmicide, It's just hard when you don't have an intuitive spectral analyzer in front o...

Re: Ableton push thread (IM BUYING IT TONIGHT!)

It's revolutionary.... No joke. It's like a remote for ableton. You can open a clip and tap in beats, whatever you tap in is written within a clip in ableton. Everything you do on the board opens and effects something within ableton. If you edit the same clip you created on push in your DAW the chan...

Ableton push thread (IM BUYING IT TONIGHT!)

Lets discuss Ableton Push. What is Push? Push is a new instrument that solves an old problem: how to make a song from scratch. With hands-on control of melody and harmony, beats, sounds, and song structure, Push puts the fundamental elements of music making at your fingertips - and it fits in a back...

Re: Reverb send processing

A lot of times when using the reverb on a send you'd leave the signal 100% wet. I find using a compressor brings up the reverb and then ill control the volume to taste, either with the volume control on the send itself or the send control on each specific patch.

Re: Reverb send processing

I'd say thats it right there.

I just setup a send with a specific reverb that im feeling, compress, then eq out the lows.

You can use amp effects instead of a compressor too add grit, depends on what your trying to accomplish

Best places for Producers on the internet

I thought it would be a good idea to create a post about the best places for a music producer on the internet. Of course DSF is the best place :dunce: , but what other outlets do you guys use? What sites are good for finding new music? What hashtags are popular among producers? Who's good to follow,...

Keyboard with x/y pad build into each key?

Check out the video here first: http://kck.st/13SJwMM Info: http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/touchkeys-to-bring-diy-multi-touch-expression-to-any-keyboard-581484 Sounds pretty sick. I don't know if the width of the keys would be sufficient but i can think of plenty of things to map to the Y plane...

They have some great gritty drum samples and synth samples. I really think this should be a sticky. I come to this post a few times a week while i'm at work to hunt for samples.
