Can anyone help me make the bass that starts at 35 seconds? I want to make a wobble out of it. In this song it is used as quick notes but i think i could make a similar bass that i can use to hold a longer note and wobble it. I think it kind of sounds ...

Does anyone know how to make this? (Nostalgia "The Hero")
I have been trying to figure this out for a while now. It's the main sound that comes in right at the drop.
Sound starts at 54 seconds.

Re: Does sidechain compression actually compress???
Wow I didn't know that the higher frequencies ride the lower waves like that. That makes a lot more sense.

Re: Does sidechain compression actually compress???
The confusing thing is sounds are usually made of multiple frequencies with varying amplitudes. So when you say "The volume of everything over the threshold is reduced by an amount determined by the ratio" i kind of picture the compressor reducing the volume of ONLY the frequencies going over the ...

Re: Does sidechain compression actually compress???
I know that it would be annoying to do the automations by hand but i was just trying to understand compression so i was asking if "in theory" compression is the same as automating the volume. Sounds like it is.

Re: Does sidechain compression actually compress???
So a compressor, whether it is sidechained or not, lowers the volume completely? Because i thought it lowered the loudest frequencies and kept the more quiet ones the same (depending on the threshold). So what you are saying is if i had perfect volume automations, i wouldn't need a compressor?

Re: Does sidechain compression actually compress???
Ok so just to be clear:
compression changes the dynamic range
sidechain compression only changes the volume
Is that right?

Is that right?

Does sidechain compression actually compress???
Some people are saying that you should automate volume instead of use sidechain compression because you will squash your sound when all you really want is the volume to fade in and out. But others are saying that when you sidechain compress it doesn't actually compress it just acts like a volume ...

Re: How do you make a fat sounding piano?
I listed those because they were the first that came to mind. But idk it seems fatter to me than what i get out of my ableton piano. I read in an interview that he uses ableton's piano so i just assumed that he meant for all his songs with piano. Maybe my piano isn't mixing in with everything very ...

Re: Help me make rusko's bionic commando!
Well i have albino 3 (got it because rusko uses it, yes i love rusko) and massive. My DAW is ableton so i also have anything that comes with ableton. What synth do you recommend? Is there one that i should be using to try and recreate this?

Help me make rusko's bionic commando!
How do you make the bass from rusko's bionic commando? It sounds bitcrushed and there is definitely some vocal sounding stuff going on. But i just can't quite get it. It doesn't sound like a typical "yoi" sound. It is making more of a "waw" or "wow" sound.

Re: How do you make a fat sounding piano?
Yeah skrillex uses abletons built in piano. I read about it in some interview. The tracks i can think of are ruffneck full flex and first of the year.
Yeah i think the key is compressing the shit out of it.

How do you make a fat sounding piano?
I have ableton, kontakt, nexus, and i cannot figure out how people like skrillex get such a fat sounding piano. It must be the processing because i know skrillex uses abletons built in piano.
