Re: Troublesome-"Tuesday Blues" (Minimal/Dramatic Horns)

No problem. You should take a look at this thread if you haven't already; I believe everyone should: http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=74832 My two favorite posts being: Sorry if it isn't really answering your question, but -3 is way too high. Remember that 6dB is half. So if you h...

Re: Troublesome-"Tuesday Blues" (Minimal/Dramatic Horns)

I like the vibes of the song and the potential in it, however, the drums sound relatively weak compared to the rest of the mix, give them a little more punch via EQing, compression, and maybe duck the synths behind the drums with a tad bit of sidechaining, don't set it too a 100% in the mixer. I am ...

Re: Drime - Untitled (Dubby/140)

Nice man!! howd u make that deep kick He has a kick and a sine sub going on if I'm not mistaken. The sub sits beneath the kick and accentuates the kick. EDIT: In regards to the track, I'm not listening on great headphones right now, but you should check to make sure the kick and the sub aren't runn...

Re: City Chimp - Jez-R (140 Jungle/DnB)

First off let me say how awesome the monkey sample works in this song, bravo on that! I'm not sure exactly what I'm hearing but the first bass note of the progressions sounds like it starts a moment off, either that or there is a dead space right before the first kick of the progression. Really digg...

Re: ZenSin- Cake-Fries(Forward)

Liking the high synth melody on the intro, subtle but works. On the drop i reckon you could do with more low end on the mid bass, maybe layer another bass patch with the existing one that has more low end around 370Hz-450Hz. All else is a nice job, keep it up Agreed, the bass needs more body, right...

Re: Any pointers before this thing gets mastered?

I don't recall which version I heard, but this sounds miles better! Good job! Only a few things, when it drops it kinda just stays in place and although I do like the faint rising synth, maybe your track would benefit from starting with less drums in the beginning of the drop and progressively addin...

Re: Any pointers before this thing gets mastered?

The main thing to remember is that you want your track to have enough headroom for the engineer to really bring the song to life. I'm not sure if you've seen this thread or not, but it is a very good read: http://www.dubstepforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74832 However the most important thing to re...

Lmao it's honestly because there is nothing else to critique; it may stem from your background in dubstep where it's not as much of a focused on element. You should give yourself a pat on the back though, looking forward to hearing more tunes from you!

Re: Feedback Thread

Hello all, would love some feedback on a darker house track I made recently. https://soundcloud.com/libra-uk/onetwentyeight Only been making house and garage style stuff for a month or so under the alias of Libra, used to make dubstep under Depone. Had a year and half break form the music and now b...

To me atleast, it sounds pretty loud for a track thats going to be mastered, what is the song peaking at in your daw?

Re: jaydot-Serenity (chilled garagey dubstep)

I think the composition of the track is good. However I think that the traffic sample/drum/bass levels are a little high in the mix. I also think the track would benefit from some more reverb, to give it a more mellow, slowed down pace. Lastly, I think the bass would sound excellent with a tad bit o...

Felix Cartal - The Fire (Harrisin Remix) (Melbounce/House)

Thank you for stopping by this topic. I was hoping that you could give me some feedback on my new tune; as I don't have monitors at my house I cannot accurately hear the all the levels on the track so if something sounds off please let me know! Thanks and have a great day :4: https://soundcloud.com/...
