Re: Weighty Snares?
Well dungeon snares are not heavy at all in my experience. They lack a lot of lows and have plenty of 1khz to 2khz. What you can do to make them sound properly is to use some clip distortion and parallel compression. They lack lows because that 200-500 area is taken by basses...sometimes the mid ran...

Re: Good reminder of why you shouldn't always trust your ear
that's because I guess there is a stupid habit of thinking that: loud = better = let's boost 2-5khz where ear is most sensitive. and in my opinion that's total shit but hey that's what 15 yrs old kids want to listen. Lately I can't even club anymore due to totally shit DJ's that fuck up lows and hig...

Re: Good reminder of why you shouldn't always trust your ear
I'd like to help you Agu, but I find it hard to understand what's going on. So If I Understood you well you're saying that listening the same song on youtube or logic you get different high end? Try this: Download a high Quality wav reference track, play it in vlc and then in logic. You shouldn't he...

Re: Wicked Situation Remix Comp $900+ in Prizes
thanks man, I've been working 3 days no-stop.
I think it's pretty normal to become quite fast when you produce 7 hours a day, everyday for 3-4 years.
and probably I'm not even that fast hahaha.
Anyway good luck to you, remember to post your song here too so I know it's you

Re: Headphones: Hd800/LDC's Worth it?
I'd go for a pair of 650-600. The 800 are really expensive and are not much loved across the head fi community :/.
looks like got some problems with the highs and the cable.
Check headfi and see for yourself

Re: Monitors or treatment?
I disagree (I'm currently working under open fiberglass batting, it looks like it is snowing, but it is glass), but the chemical binders are still going to off gas. I've heard of people getting very sick when they've done this to their bedroom studios. A debilitating illness could do Chad some good...

I valued the apollo, but I guess it's not in the same league as lynx or prism. I don't need any more than 2 ins, what I need is high lvl da conversion.
I already got a satellite quad.

Yeah if this thread goes for enough pages, some people might convince you you won't get those problems with monitors.. Agreed. How can be possible to have problems mixing bass on headphones :O closed back headphones will accentuate bass, open backs won't have enough etc. etc. it's hard to get it ri...

Re: Venemy new life pt 2 growl?
Make a nice moving patch in massive with nice modulations.
Bounce down a long note.
Make some filter automation if needed then put into a sampler and play with pitch.
