this patch in massive kinda sounds close http://www17.zippyshare.com/v/29109355/file.html you could get that sort of offbeat wub with the "frequency shifter" insert in massive just pick any patch that is a stab, turn up the dry/wet and lower the pitch all the way in the insert and just play a lownote

Not sure whats goin on here. I was gonna suggest using a different circuitry type? might fix it. VCA is an amazing compression type. It adds subtle harmonic distortion to the compression to bring warmth to it. I find the platinum setting to 'smooth' it doesn't add enough character for me.

it means to make sure you have a good amount of decibels for the mastering engineer to work with so you definitely need to remove that ...
