Help understanding how to "split" synths into low, mid, high
I keep reading that you should split your sounds into low, mid, & high when your creating sounds to make some nice gritty sounds but I don't understand how its actually done. Do you just simply copy the sound three times in three different layers and edit each accordingly (I use ableton by the w...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

If it's because it'll be a transition between other tracks, that makes sense and you can ignore that comment, but ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@JTtreeZY Not sure the direction I wanna go with this one. Keep it Hip Hoppy or make it Dubsteppier.. any recommendations? I recommend going hip hop with it but adding some more variations even if they are subtle (a few hats here and there or an extra kick or two). You could add a few vocals and a ...

Hope you enjoy, I wanted to make a slower mellow tune instead of the usual brostep out there.

Re: Making the body of a song, any tips?
Hahahahaha I thought this was going to be a nice thread on Pad work and chord progression. :6: http://nextstepaudio.com/bass/trifonic-creating-twisted-leads-with-exs24-in-logic/ Grasp the idea from that, re-sample then repeat. ( It's all tedious chop up work in the end ) Even though the sounds are ...

Making the body of a song, any tips?
I'm having a hard time understanding how to make the body of a song. I understand the basics such as structure, effects, EQ, etc. but I don't get how to organize my sounds or if I am doing it properly. How do you guys get that really chopped sound (like excision or datsik)? Would I mainly tweak the ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

Here's a new song I've been working on that just seems to be missing something, It just comes off as too predictable for me http://soundcloud.com/anti-venom/untitled Any feedback would b...
