Astral/Spectral highend
Been listening to the Okami soundtrack and many of the tracks have this spectral/astral kinda sounding highend. It sounds a bit like white noise but i think there are more elements to it like cymbals or hi-hats. Can anyone tell me what they think it is so i can try to recreate it? Heard from 1:24 on...

Re: Drum Packages?
Look for some Roland 808/909 samples or sample packs. These usually layer well with other drums.

Re: Adventure Club Dubstep Questions
Mess around with a flanger I find they are good for liquidy sounds. You can also get some liquidy sound with a bandpass filter.

Re: Feed Me's Drums
Sharp powerful EQ boost at around 200 hz along with transient shaping, saturation and reverb. Also layer lots of samples.

Bassline Effects Chain
When adding an effects chain to a bassline or any other kind of lead or synth should I have two EQs one at the start and one at the end?
So far I've just been placing one at the end before the reverb.
If theres compression should it sit after other effects for eg. Flanger, Chorus etc.

Re: Layer it. C'mon layer it. You must layer it.
I normally cut my sub bass at around 80hz. For your Mid range you could duplicate it and make a slight variation of your original bass that hits higher or lower on the spectrum. Then just simply EQ these 2 layers so they sit well together. Make sure you cut off 80hz on your mid range as well so thes...

Bass Trip
How would one go about recreating 00:31 - 00:32, the bass kinda sounds like it trips over itself. Is it just modulated LFO speed arranged a certain way?

Re: DSF Q&A 20: Downlink
Your a legend for doing this Q&A man,
How do you process your drums for your average track (Compression, Saturation, EQ etc.)?
Do you use a drum machine or straight audio hits?
Do you run effects through Sends & Returns, or are the effects just slapped straight on the drums?
Thx again.

Scales
After reading about scales and the different scales in the PDF i posted here I've been wonderin,
Do any big names or anyone on here use one set scale for a tune?
I've also noticed on Beatport the scales are provided for songs, is this information from the actual artist or is it someones guess?

Goblins like Coki's go to song
When its played it just destroys everything.
Especially love the parts of the track where it hits really hard and low on subs.
