Re: Essential mixes to get
What I did/do is go to google, type in dubstep website and start browsing all the sites out there. Most of them have download sections with artists who let you have their music for free. Everything from mixes to songs. I also go on SoundCloud.com and check out all the stuff there. Tons of stuff for...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Gentle speech and 2 saws. Bandreject and highpass2 in series. Sine shaper and parabolic shaper. Modulate all the waveforms and the filter. Envelope the highpass to go off in the tip. Adds more growl. Modulate the eq and just experiment. Its really just messing with filters and eq and seeing how the...

I've those really arent samples and loops.. then you're doing a good job of wrapping your head around sound design. Also - don't have such a self deprecating title haha. People well give you good feedback on your first track without the incentive.

Re: DnB to Drumstep to Dubstep (Tempo change)
Youve got a few cool ideas going on here. Im not crazy about the wobble's sound, and the progression you have it playing is a little too dissonant possibly. Also, not changes besides the tempo. Switching to a dnb tempo would be a lot more effective if you bass got way more bouncy, or at least develo...

Re: Must Have Software
Im running the "filth wobble" software patch for my logitech m325 wireless mouse. It turns the scroll wheel into an oscilator and the left and right-clicks into "Xtreme filth" and "Grimy wobble" settings, respectively. Does loads for my workflow.

I really really like this one man. Only awkward part was the transition at 1:20.

Youve got a cool idea going here. I think it could just use a little bit more of dynamics and variation. Mess with that chord progression a little, and youre fine. I do like it though, commented on your cloud

Midi keyboards - help! Bring your bias!
So, my local guitar center is having a few promotions, and it looks like I’m gonna go snag a midi keyboard while the deals are going on. However, I’d really like your guys input, as I haven’t had a lot of luck with narrowing down my options. I’m really interested in which of the following will integ...

[Progressive House] Th3Reindeer - Looking Up (hows my sound
I have now been producing almost 2 months, and I think this was the most solid effort ive put forth so far. I know its far from perfect, but I think I’ve made progress in my mix and sound selection. Please feel free to critique any aspect of my track or my producing in general! Thanks! http://soundc...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@mthrfunk Thanks a lot for the in depth feedback. I've been making music for a long time only been producing electronic a few months, so I'm a bit lacking on the technical side. By "widening" the shakers does that mean panning them to one side a bit? I wasn't completely sure. and yes, the ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@rayman612 like the percussion that comes in a lot. Interesting vocals for sure. the synth sounds very pink floyd-y but i dig it. good job man, sounds nice! @cmgoodman1226 the snare rolls are awesome, and perc in general is sharp. I think the drums are obviously at the forefront of your track, which...

Re: Akadia - Shuffle Hard (Nice melody with a heavy drop)
youve got some cool sounds goin on, but even by the genre's standards you jump around a lot key-wise. Try to be more careful in selecting the notes in the context of your entire track. Pick a key and work within it. good job though!

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@Darj - the effect at 0:17 nice but everything after that leading into the drop is a little empty. after the drop, things sound real good. try introducing something new at 1:30 @Burgeamon - your hats are overpowering at first then disappear behind the synth. some killer sounds already though! just d...

i really like where you were goin with this man. Only thing i noticed was that the moment around 1:40 where everything drops out is really cool, but loses its effectiveness when its repeated several more times. commented on your cloud man i dig it!
