Re: How do you process vocals
Fragments: Instrumental is finished, so he had a mp3 of the track to write and record to, and I think he probably just eq'd it to his personal preference to sit well with the track. Basically just cleaned it up a bit. He recorded it on a soundlux mic and 7600 API preamp. It's a Messinian acapella, s...

How do you process vocals
So, I'm working with vocals for the first time really. I've used chopped vocals for effects before but this is this first time actually using reall full on vocal tracks. The producer I'm working with is well known and professional, so the acapella he sent is already eq'd and sounds great. I've got t...

Re: Figure Releases Ableton Live Session of “The Blob"
Yeah this was crazy. His track was punchy as shit all done in the box too.
I've gotten some pretty punchy mix downs in ableton, but not like that.
Really cool to dig into.
KJ SAWKA had a splice session available too. Was awesome.

Found it!

I just figure as an effect, maybe a send, then mix it in to kinda give some love to the higher frequencies with the splashy white noise.

Re: Mixing overheads- Noisia, Break, DLR, Octane style
NOISIA posted a instagram video not long ago, and in pretty sure that solo'd the overhead track, or a send effect of the overhead track. It kinda sounded like they had a white noise sample sidechained with a gate to the over head signal to give it that crispy/splashy sound.

Re: Different Aliases
Two aliases just seems like a pain. I would write what you want, and push stuff to labels you think labels will want. The other tracks of different genres shouldn't be an issue in my mind. Idk. Also, did you finish your YouTube tutorial series? I watched all of them and it never ended. They were fuc...

Who's on Splice?
I'm surprised this hasn't popped up yet. Anyone on here on splice? https://splice.com Currently beta/invite only but was curious if anyone got on the bandwagon. For those who aren't familiar: Splice basically is a collab website/app for ableton (other daws coming soon) It allows you to upload live s...

How did something this old get dug up? And lol at the fact hypefiend even started this thread, when e gave away his 1300 dope presets not long ago. Apparently he took a liking to carbon at some point.
Hypefiend if you read this, are you still writing music??!

Re: Calling all Crispy Noise Ninjas
Try lightly but crushing your highs.
I sometimes frequency split basses and do this.
Or just high pass a duplicate channel and crush to taste

Re: "Clicky" Kick Drums (Layered over Sub Bass)
I watched some masterclass or whatever with Martin garrix maybe, and he was using one really clicky layer, and one kinda mid layer kick then a sub bass. That way there is kinda a filler between the click and the sub without having to resort to sub harmonics and a muddy mix. The song SOLVCE on my sou...

I've gotta say, it doesn't look like they cut many corners. Looks impressive to me. Guess we will see in the coming weeks how they perform.
