The snare could use a little more crunchiness to it. Perhaps layering the snare with a secondary snare, pitched down an octave, with an increased resonance might help with it.


The build up at approximately the 0:40 time, seems a little too pushed back and washed out by the synth in front of it ...

How do side-chain compress?
My cousin was talking about something like that, but he uses Ableton and said it's impossible in FL Studio (which is what I use :| )

I would suggest that you download a demo of the ones that you might like to try, and explore your options.
Different people have different work flow preferences, what would be great for one person might not be so great for another.

I own a bunch of stuff by presonus including a firestudio. Unless you are mixing in analog or recording tons of stuff simultaneous, you don't need 8 pre amped ins and shit tons of outs. The audiobox is really good, presonus has some killer built in pre amps. For monitors, I'd recommend the rokits 6 ...

I'm looking at buying an audio interface and a set of monitors which will be good for my purposes.
My workstation is Windows based, and my DAW is Ableton.

Production of bass heavy music is obviously a concern here for me, but Dubstep isn't the only genre of music that I have an interest in ...
